Interactice CD ROM - How the hell do i get it to work?!! I'd like to ask for some hlp please!
I have finally got hold of the Interactive CD ROM from 1994. The problem i have is that i can't play the thing! It doesn't load automatically, and when i get into the disc to start it up i just get error messages stating that the file cannot be found, or i am missing something. I am using my desktop which is 2 years old and according to the cover of Interactive it meets the minimum requirements and some. Does anyone else have the same problem? Or can anyone please suggest a way i can get the CD ROM to work? I've heard/read a fair bit about it and now i finally have the disc the fact i can't use it pretty frustrating. Cheers.

You might try this:
Search for the Whatever.exe on the CD Right-click on the desired .exe file, and choose 'Properties' from the menu. Select the 'Compatibility' tab on the resulting dialogue. In the 'Compatibility mode' section of the dialogue, tick the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' box. Leave the operating system selected as 'Windows 95'. Click the 'OK' button, and then try running the programme again. If you still have no joy after that, you can try ticking various combinations of the boxes under the 'Display settings' section and then running the programme again :crossfingers:

Yeah, I can't get it to work either. It sits in a drawer as part of my Prince memorabilia collection. Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

Yep - mine has 2 songs that i can play..one is Interactive (strangely enough!) and the other appears to be an hour of silence, unless i skipped passed it in my search! I know that i have an official version of the cdrom, tis just driving me bonkers with frustration trying to get it to work!

You are aware that it's a CD-ROM and therefore does play in a regular cd player? Unless ofcourse it has a screen?

Yeps. As i said i can see that there are 2 songs on the disc and can play them. But as great as that is i'd actually like to 'play' the game itself.

Intractive is The 1st video that s found on the game/disk...The silence...is the cd rom data...
I know that i have an official version of the cdrom, tis just driving me bonkers with frustration trying to get it to work! did u try useing setup.exe..to get it started? i'm sure u did When i 1st tryed to play...by clicking Program.exe....i got the "QT not Instald" But after clicking the sirius.exe...and copying a few files it worked..... If u explore the disk...and look 4 the bigest .Mov files..you can watch the videos....u can even listen to some of the wav clips ..

Heres an idea...i just hope your disc has thes files
Make a Folder Named : Interacv Place these in side... PROGRAM.EXE PROGRAM.KW1 PROGRAM.KW2 PROGRAM.KW3 README.WRI Make another folder inside the Interacv folder Named..... SAMPLER and place these files in them... example C:/Interacv/SAMPLER LEVEL1.EXE PROGRAM.KW1 PROGRAM.KW2 PROGRAM.KW3 SAMPLER.EXE On the cd theres a folder named QTINSTL.....Copy it and rename it QWT And put it in the same directory...and not in the interacv folder example.....should look like this... C:/Interacv C:/QWT there are 14 files in all named..... QCMC.QTC QTCVID.QTC QTIM.DLL QTIMCHMG.DLL QTIMCMGR.DLL QTJPEG.QTC QTNOTIFY.EXE QTRAW.QTC QTRLE.QTC QTRPZA.QTC QTRT21.QTC QTSMC.QTC QTVHDW.DLL QTVHEW.DLL Ok now copy all 14 again and place them In The Iteracv folder it shoul look like this PROGRAM.EXE PROGRAM.KW1 PROGRAM.KW2 PROGRAM.KW3 README.WRI QCMC.QTC QTCVID.QTC QTIM.DLL QTIMCHMG.DLL QTIMCMGR.DLL QTJPEG.QTC QTNOTIFY.EXE QTRAW.QTC QTRLE.QTC QTRPZA.QTC QTRT21.QTC QTSMC.QTC QTVHDW.DLL QTVHEW.DLL Thats how mine is set up....i have a feeling u might not have some of thes files but i cant hurt to try...goodluck
