How Many Fans Dig Prince's TUNE..... The SACRIFICE OF VICTOR?

Love the song. Missed the TV show. That happened during my pre-org, pre-quake, days, how the hell was I supposed to know it was on? lol

oooooh yes, we sacrifice!

Brilliant, forgotten gem.

Used to be the epic ending to my funk DJ nights a few years ago, the crowd loved it!

except for prince's performance, that show gave me a headache! it was an awful lot of hypey stuff for just a few minutes of what we all really wanted to see. if i could just have an edit of p's part, i'd be happy never to see the rest of it again.

I LOVE this underrated, forgotten gem of a song. It took me a long time to realize how great and autobiographical the lyrics are because I often just skipped it back when it came out but it´s a great song.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I kind of lucked into seeing the Ryde devine special. I am a night owl, so I will be up, either reading or listening to music, watching teevee. I was watching teevee, flipping around, you know, what men usually do, and there he was. I was like, "what the fuck is this doing on and what is it?" I found it strange. Too bad the crayons never became an actual band.

This was around Christmas of 92 and ABC was doing a Friday night music show called In Concert. For those of you who are too young to remember, Friday night was a huge music night. In the 70's it was The Midnight Special. In the 80's it was the late lamented Friday Night Videos. Then ABC had tried this In Concert thing .

Prince was in the middle of the "Symbol" album promotions .He actually had a two night deal in which the first night was called "Act 1" which was a version of the 3 Chains of Gold video which was released later in 1993. This show opened with the Symbol album promo commercial.

The Saturday night show was hosted by Troy Beyer( who was supposed to have been pregnant by Prince around this time). The show was good and Prince delvered killer performances of Sexy MF(clean version), I Wanna Melt With U, and Victor.

I don't think it was a "book" but more of a picture album.

I liked the special. I have it on videotape somewhere around my house. Prince was on point with his performances. I liked "Sacrifice Of Victor" But he killed it with that medley he did of "Melt With U" and "Three Chains Of Gold" Man the band tore it up!
