The Undertaker

I am hoping to get this soon, but was wondering what is the best way to get it. The only version I have found that is complete is a 2disc set called Past Present & future. Is this set any good?

Cheers for any help/advice

I've seen it around on VHS in places like HMV.
I'm sure you can get it if you look hard enough.

I have it on VHS. And the official overseas copy in PAL format.

The video version is available in Europe, officially released. Might cost you a pretty penny if you're getting it imported into the US (many collectors in the US have bootleg copies that are fantastic quality. Mine was recorded off a friends lazerdisc). The CD version was never released, but has been heavily bootlegged. the Past Present & Future set is cool, but much of Disc one has since been released. Still, it does have a few good cuts on it, like the extended cut of "Billy Jack Bitch" and the 96 remix of TMBGITW. The sound quality on The Undertaker tracks is superb, so that alone made it worth my while!

The video version has been SLIGHTLY altered in some parts.

For example, the last track on the video version,'Dolphin',does NOT correspond with the demo-like original'Undertaker'version to be found on the CD.
Instead,'Dolphin' has been re-jigged in the studio and tacked on as part of the video narrative, but it is not the cut that was commited to tape during the 'Undertaker' session with the so called "Paisley Power Trio" (namely, Prince, Michael B. and Sonny T.) The latter is the version that features on the CD. That in itself counts as a substantial difference.

Moreover, Vanessa Marcil vomits right in the middle of a song whilst the track is being played. This briefly interrupts the song half-way through, before it resumes playing (guess which song it is).
I would therefore recommend getting both items: the video for the performance - it's that good, plus the CD, indispensable for completists.

"..re-jigged.."! I love that expression. Where'd you find it? And just what is your avatar anyway? Looks like someone nude in the shower.

The Euro video (pal) is up for auction on ebay right now.

The Undertaker boot CD has pretty crappy quality compared to other boots taken from the video directly.

Check the links page on this site for more info on boots.
