Prince's True Soulmate! ummm... no, don't look at me like that.
you must think i'm to assume I meant me. What are you trying to get me ? anyway... You know? I've been hangging about the Prince circus since 1998. In that time I've seen Prince doesn't have any luck with the women. Between his vestile vergins and these women who sware they've recieved word from god himself they are his one and only true soulmate. It's no wonder he's so confused. Maybe he should give up. Maybe he should be clearer. I've known several of his special "soulmate"s to believe the same obscure lyrics that he's sung was about them. Well, yeah, good luck with all that. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I hear the word "soulmate" and it just makes me cringe. Most people haven't a clue what "soulmate" truly implies. They think they're this person out there who is fated for just them and it's gonna be this blissful ride to the joy fantastic and no drama and crap like that.
I'm speaking from experience and my very humble opinion which comes with my usual disclaimer--take it for what it's worth. If you think I'm wrong or don't agree, fine cookies. 1. Soulmate implies nothing more than two souls who have made an agreement to be together in this particular time and place. You can have more than one soulmate just as you can have more than one friend. Oftentimes, soulmates have had more than one lifetime together so when you meet them you often get this feeling you know one another. 2. Soulmates are part of your soul group. Soulmates are not necessarily members of the opposite sex, nor do they necessarily constitute a "love" connection. I have had a couple of soulmates who have been female best friends of mine. I have a male friend who has been with me before also. 3. Soulmates do not necessarily mean you will have a relationship for the rest of your life with this person. I have had several love connections with soulmates and they lasted as long as they lasted and we parted when we needed to. Sometimes soulmates will agree to be together only to work out some karma together. Other times they may agree to stay together to go through a certain time together--people will often say that during challenging times, there was a special friend or relationship they had that helped get them through it. Sometimes, a soulmate can be a one night stand and there was some healing that occurred. 4. The most important lesson in soulmates is: YOU KNOW WHEN YOU MEET THEM. Unless you're just generally clueless about life. No one needs to tell you that you are their soulmate. You feel that shit, deeply. You know this person deeply. You may not know the insignificant details of this lifetime, but you know them. You see it in their eyes when they look at you. Hear it in their voice when they talk to you. Connecting with them feels like you have known them your entire life. 5. With soulmates, you will have to work out personal stuff just like with anybody else. We all have issues and soulmates do also. If you are not mature enough to deal with your issues and work them out, then that relationship can fail just as any other. The beautiful thing about soulmates is hopefully both of you are spiritually advanced enough to have the tenacity to work through your issues together. Another big misinterpretation about soulmates is the issue of twin souls. Twin souls are one soul that has been split and incarnated into two different people. The concept is similar to the female egg that splits and becomes twins. I have run into people that were twin souls who have done very well together, and they have been very few. Twin souls also tend to look alike by the way--meaning in features. They can be different races, nationalities, but they tend to look similar or behave similar. But for the most part, twin souls can be extremely difficult to get along with. Remember, you are opposites. Many twin soul relationships can be very volatile or you can only stand to be around each other in small doses. That is those relationships where you can't stand each other, but you can't leave each other alone. Soulmates can do this too, but a twin soul match is extremely strong in its connection. Again, this is a relationship, you just know it when it hits you. Unfortunately for Prince, he's a famous figure. Chances and circumstances are he may never meet his twin soul. It's hard living in Hollywood and having chicks throw themselves in your path all the time, and there are a lot of women. Chances are his true mate is not someone that is part of that world at all. Nor is she someone he may particularly notice because being around so many people, you've been trained to tune people out. But it's possible he is searching for that connection because he tends to go for the same look in women. When you see people doing that, they are looking for someone. I know on another thread people were trying to make Prince seem prejudice because he didn't usually go for darker skinned women. It isn't that. Prince seems to be looking for someone in particular. But they can can get sidetracked and will do a "love the one you're with" kinda thing that explains all the other girls. I remember a joke a friend of mine used to tell me when I'd go on my tirade about soulmates he'd say: If you like James Brown and I like the Temptations, then we're soulmates! LQ

Thank you for your responce. It was quite insiteful and worthwhile fitting well into such a thread as this. I found it quite intresting as I don't believe in the term "soulmate" at all, nor do I believe souls agree to be some place, (that's to say I don't believe such things in the context outside of God's will for such things) News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

Where do you get your info from? Any book you would recommend? Just curious...not sure if I agree with everything you say or not but I must admit I did have an experience where I met a girl that I instantly felt a strong connection with like I had never experienced before....It was definitely love at first sight. And the comment you said about going after a particular "type" meaning that you are searching for someone in particular rings true to me. So I guess I'm trying to find more info on the subject. And I do think it's sad that Prince can't seem to find a love that lasts since he is such a talented guy but I guess he is in a difficult position being so famous and rich.

LQ As hugely successful as the Beatles were, John Lennon and Paul McCarthy found their soul mates or women they committed to, despite all the perpetual hot bodies, younger stuff. Mick Jagger didn't and Hugh Hefner hasn't. (Hugh has his own set of "twins".) Some men aren't able to be with one person.
