A friend of mine heard it one day, not knowing who it was, asked me who the woman was who sang that really sad song. I took extreme delight in telling him who it was. That song, so desperate, so lonely, almost so close to giving up forever..... haunts me and shall continue to haunt me as long as I shall live.
My offer:You should hear 'God' (vocal version) and 'Another lonely christmas' 12" version after 'Solo' (on headphones by candlelight - nothing else) and you couldn't gett off your goosebumps. [Edited 9/26/06 9:50am] at the time it was exciting & sad when he say "My name is.....no one" I think it was coincidence, but what with the symbol we all wondered what his name was. My Legacy

In the meantime I've fashioned a ersatz nipple out of pink Play-Doh and superglued it to my chest. I suppose it looks real enough, at least from a generous distance in really darkened lighting. And people keep asking if I smell something that reminds them of being in 3rd grade, all though they can't quite pin down what the smell reminds them of. So things were going just dandy until swim class this afternoon. I'd rather not talk about what happened. Apparantly Play-Doh dissolves in chlorinated water. How the fu*% was I supposed to know that. When you get that nipple in the mail, you are to entertain it like royalty. Am I understood I hope we don't have to discuss this again... Yours, "Plaid shorts are completely over."

There's something incredibly intriguing about the Come album. It explores so many revealing psychological dimensions of the man. There's the utter, desperate loneliness of Solo, the fixation of Space, the perverted obsession of Pheromone, the pain of Papa, the romantic heartbreak of Dark, etc.
It just covers so much thematic ground, and with the dark poetry and imagery, it's almost like a journey through the recesses of Prince's mind. I also just love the consistent sound throughout the album. It has a dark, surreal, almost ethereal quality to it. It sounds as if it isn't of this reality, and that almost makes it feel haunting as you listen to it. If an album ever had the feel of one colour before, it's this one. It's pure grey. Come might not be Prince's best ever album, but in a way, it's his most captivating. [Edited 9/26/06 23:23pm] The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Come. A contractual obligation. Where do I sign? News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
