"We Are the World"

this whole situation was funny. Prince was scheduled 2 perform with a lot of peeps for the "We Are the World" but didnt show up. Could u imagine prince singing a MJ line. But wat would have been if he actually showed up. I watched that promo video the other and i still couldnt imagine prince being there. I later watched the per4mance of We Are the world that took place in 1994. And Prince was sucking a Lollipop the whole time. LOL classic prince. Can anyone tell me more on y prince didnt do it? and the disrespect he showed in 1994 and y wasnt MJ there with everyonelse singing in 1994. And y did Prince decide 2 show up then?

Prince was supposed to sing right after MJ and say "But if you just believe, there's no way we can fall."
Since he didn't do, Huey Lewis did it.

It woulda been great if he'd done it but...his part should have been put before Mike.
lol might be why he ain't do it.

The 1994 situation was um, un-good. He shouldn't have gotten up there on the stage if he was just going to stand there. Not cool. I thought it was rude. He shoulda just stayed seated or left or something. Didn't Quincy Jones say something really mean to him after that?

I'm sure he didn't get up on stage of his own free will...
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Looking back on it-it was better for Prince just to contribute 4 the tears in your eyes instead of doing the song. It turned out better.Besides I can't see Prince following MJ anyday!

If he didn't sing in the original, he should've stayed seated for the 1994 performance. Seemed like he spend most of his time on stage flirting with Nona Gaye while everyone else was singing. It seemed like a total joke to him.

What did Quincy say? I vaguely remember him making a comment..

tripp

i thought for sure in 1994 when he reluctantly got up on the stage and did what he did, i thought that the next single was going to have hello pt 2 as a b-side

but i agree, if he wasn't going to sing it then he should have left the building. it was rather rude and uncool.....

Backstage,Quincy told Prince "You may be the Artist formerly known as Prince, but you're still a prick" eek

I agree,it was silly of Prince to get up there if he wasn't gonna sing.

Agreed. Sure artists regret it now, being on that song, but the whole thing proves how seriously Prince considers his music, and that also makes him a prick.
