I have the cover of the Lovesexy album on my desktop ...
Now 2 the musically un-educated in my house everytime I boot my pc up I am ridiculed 2 the bloody nines and called incredibly homophobic names by my missus and the kids.
Can some1 please leave me words of support and happiness concerning this matter and of course ur views on the subject.....

I used to get the same treatment, tell them John Lennon and Yoko did it first and nobody said a bad thing about it then, everybody thought it was an inventive and fresh idea I'm gonna find that album cover for us.

I had a huge 5' x 3' Lovesexy poster on my bedroom wall when I was a teenager, and I never once got any ridicule. I'm not gay and Prince is beautiful!!!!

I think it would have been a much more better looking cover if he wasnt on it.

I remember seeing this cover when I was a young teen, and while I did give it second look, I didn't find it vulgar or offensive. I found it quite interesting because of the pose, and his expression. It makes more sense now, after listening to the album. even my boyfriend, who was put off by it at first, likes the album cover, and thinks it is a nice photo.

I can totally see how people thought this cover was embarassing at the time, I loved it personally and never had a problem with it, but then in Europe we are far more open to such things, not like the USA where a nipple on tv is a national scandal and yet has a massive legitimate porn industry... I think Lovesexy went to number 1 in the UK..? The cover didn't put off buyers here.

i remember when this album first came out...actually, the lovesexy album cover was the very first time i ever saw prince. i was only 7 years old when it came out, and me and my folks were at a place called music circuit (local wrecka sto). they had several copies of lovesexy, not covered up by anything, sitting on wall shelves behind the counter. i remember looking up at 'em and just thinking "whoa!"

as for people giving you shit about your using the pic as computer wallpaper, kape, don't pay 'em any mind. at least you got the balls to have a nekkid brotha on yer wallpaper.

It's OK but someone should tell Prince that if you are going to pose nude, spread your damn legs open so people can see the dick. Hell, I don't see a damn thing. Not showing the dick defeats the whole purpose of posing nude.
