Prince; A Profile

Here's my personal playlist with my faves of Prince's album and single releases.

I am still adding to it, as I am also now adding great live tracks, soon I will also add more outtakes. Still looking for good quailty sound in my extensive collection.

My criteria? I acted like I had to make a list of personal Prince songs from every album, so I selected my perosnal favourites of every Prince album as if collecting for a non-Prince fan.

A few pointers;

Newly tracked and unfamiliar edits are done by me. FOr instance; I hate them bells at the end of Do Me Baby and I re-tracked albums like Sign The Times, Dirty Mind, Parade and Purple Rain, as Warner Bros did not did a very good job on them.

And no, I do not know why I did not include the extended version of Shockadelica. Will make ammends immediately.

When looking at this list, It really makes you think of what a Musical Genious he really is! Amazing.

Fun thing is, if you start compiling the way I did, you pick the GOOD songs offa an album, sometimes leaving you with songs that would NEVER make your own personal Best Of cd, limited through time.

Now I did not have any problem including Purple Rain or Money Don't Matter 2night, for instance.

All the songs I would not listen to very often now really sound amazingly strong in this collection. I never skip a song!

I love this collection!

True! The list is diverse and listen like you have Prince Radio® on.

Another GREAT thing about this list is that I always start with an ABC list, then start tracking a collection.

But when I put this on alphabetical order it turned out GREAT again; just like my Ballad Blizzard collections. Most songs segue SO perfectly into the next song... mushy

U Got The Look [extended outro] is the album version with that extended outro of the extended version edited onto it. Really groovy version it is now.

Shall I be honest? I don't have the faintest idea!

But I checked it out. Per Nilssen's The Vault says; Beautiful Strange differs minimally from the version included in the Beautiful Strange home video. The latter features a slightly longer guitar led-in segment before the vocal begins.

I remember the 2 versions being lots different. hmmm

And only a freak like me could be as happy as I am with my re-tracked Prince albums. Head just came on and it is SO nice to hear the song start where I think it is supposed to start.

You know where you just wanna hear New Position on Parade and it starts with a resonance of Chris Tracey's Parade? I hate that. I mashed all those songs together and re-tracked them myself.

I did Dirty Mind, Controversy, Purple Rain, Parade, Lovesexy and Sign The Times

Hello
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

How'd they turn out? Some of 'em are pretty tough.

Well, with the first three songs of Parade I am sure my edits are very personal; where does which song start/stop?
