you might not know if there is a heaven or hell after life
but it's still best to not go out like a bad human being.

it always felt like a rather vague reference to withdrawing
the black album.

he had a premonition/or drug induced trip/whatever and he
decided not to release it, the official statement being

he realised that he could die and the black album would be
his last statement that he would be remembered for.

but that's just speculation. the line just means exactly
what it says. i don't really see what there is to understand
about it.
