Ever leave Prince for awhile, then came back?

I did. During the "no name" period I tried to hang in with him, but I was increasingly disenchanted with him. I actually stopped following him and stopped keeping up with him after an appearance he had on the "Sinbad Show." I respect his religious beliefs, but remember being turned off by his preachiness on that show, so I just stopped following him. I saw him during the One Nite ALone period, went to one of his concerts, and finally got back into him and his music again. I'm glad I'm back.

Good Gref Charley Brown.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

I left Prince for about three months not long after his 2002 con, giving us NPGMC members the easily-available-elsewhere One Nite Alone Live CD Box Set and expecting us to be happy with that rip-off rather than the published promised CDs.

Apart from that short time, I've always been there.

I left Prince when he appeared on "Lovesexy" naked, my friends and family wouldn't leve me alone about that and I didn't know what the hell he was up to but that was the beginning of him changing his name and the WB fight and so I was a 'closet Prince fan for a while but after a while I gave up on him, didn't come back till he renamed himself and married Manuela.

I left him during Musicology, which I think is his worst CD ever, but I still went to the premiere screening. Musicology is the only CD of his besides the hits after the Hits/B sides that I did not buy. So, I consider myself to have left him. 3121 makes up for any second I ever thought he was dried up.

I lost interest for a while in the Nineties. Rave renewed my interest, but I don't love Prince like I used to, and I don't think I ever will. sad

I'm about to lose interest again I feel it. He's not gonna have amany fans left if he soesn't do something soon, especially after closing npgmc like that a lot of people feel cheated.

I did when he went nuts with WB and started that $100 membership fee for his club/website or whatever. That completely turned me off, but I'm back now. Unless he does something completely ridiculous, I'm a lifer.

There were periods when I was MIA during the Symbol years, but I am not sure if that counts, because technically he wasn't Prince then. biggrin

cool Nahhhh! I have always been into Prince since mid 80's. No matter what he did that turned me off i still stood up for him when my friends trashed him. I knew he would always be around putting out music, even when my sister & friends told me he was over. What i love about it is everyone i know who use to say Michael Jackson will reign always over Prince now see who still wears the crown.

I left him for a year, when he made that God awful album "Graffiti Bridge", well didn't leave him just hated the album, my girlfriend at the time bought it for me so I couldn't throw it out. I listened to it once and only liked Tevin Campbell's song. Luckily, he dropped Diamonds and Pearls the following year so all was forgiven.

I was really dissapointed in C&D,so I lost some intrest there.
Emancipation got my attention, but from NPS untill ONA..Live
I didn't listen that often 2 his music.Whenever I made a compilation CD he wasn't on it anymore.I still bought every CD and was always excited when it came out,but I didn't expect much of it.(I was soo dissapointed in NPS!!!)
With Rainbow Children I thought he really went underground and left the mainstream(I didn't know the album was released!)

But thanx 2 ONA and The Org I am the fan I used 2 be be4!!
Because I realised after seeing all those different genres passing by
through the years,I always return 2 Prince wink

yeah...I was out of it during the symbol years. I just was too into my life and being a new mommy to keep up with Prince and the name stuff. I had to go back and buy the music from that time.

Also, prince fans are spoiled. We are so use to music coming out so regularly that we don't even notice that other artists take forever to put out music especially nowadays.

so some will leave just because we think we are suppose to have new music every 6 months.
