Was wondering who 'I Hate You' & 'I Love You, But I Don't Trust You Anymore' were written about.

Feel free to add in any other interesting song info you know about other prince songs that a new fan would find valuable...

That info doesn't truly exist.

surely someone will have put 2 and 2 together about who he was with just before Gold was released, and then his closest relationship beakdown to Rave for I Love You, But I Don't Trust You Anymore?

Prince has a genre of songs about 'girl done me wrong,' there are many many songs in this genre but they are not all necessarily about specific individuals. Prince tends not to sing about 'I done my girl wrong' though I'm sure many of his ex-girlfriends must feel that.

Saying all that, some people believe I Hate U is about Carmen Electra, in the extended version there's some lines about the woman owing Prince a few million which some have interpreted as the money Prince invested in Carmen's career.

Prince's relationship with Mayte was on the rocks around the time of 'I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore' so it would be easy to believe that is about her.

Where have you been? With P there is always an overlap of relationships. He was dating Carmen, Nona Gaye, and Mayte at the same time.
