Las Vegas sure as shit aint like it used to be. Back in the day, it at least had a VIBE. These days, people dont even dress up anymore when they go to a casino. They sittin there in trackpants and soiled undies. 
Last time I was in Vegas was about 18 years ago, even then it was sliding downhill. I enjoyed my time there, but the vibe in the air wasnt very nice. I saw Diana Ross perform on that visit. It was OK. But seemed to me that peeps in the audience were just fillin in time inbetween slot machines. No doubt Prince Shows would be very entertaining. He might like the idea of sittin in a resident job somewhere, nice n comfortable, gettin his funk awn. Probably easier than travelling all over the joint doin gigs in different places, and it'd pay well, even though he dont need the money. But I'm not sure the company I'd wanna keep is in Las Vegas, and U know what they say... Mafia runs the music biz ( theyz corporate nowadays ), and Mafia run Vegas. Maybe Prince is tired of doing long,grueling world tours where he has live in hotels for several months of the year.If he accepts a longterm Vegas gig,he can buy a nice home out there and play at a nearby venue.It's easy and convenient....no more traveling around the globe,getting very little sleep. | |
