Props to Prince and the NPGMC for being assertive and clear that the much discussed "Xenophobia" release will be for members of the Club before "anyone in the Digital Garden".

You know that garden he talks about on TRC, where all the people tell lies promoted by the "whosepapers, hellavisions, and scagazines".(Launch is apparently one of them) What a way to "misinterpret" a message about 7cd's to mean 3 cd's and even distributed by another company than npgmc?? Amazing...

Being a dedicated fan who chooses not to join the NPGMC, I don't like being referred to as part of "the digital garden."

It's funny to hear the gnashing of teeth when something new comes to NPGMC members first.

Its true profit is driving this because why distribute the record through some record company who will charge him for every record not sold, than to distribute directly through the NPGMC, and make the profit himself.

Every release offered to club members will be offered to others as well.

IMO, I don't think Prince posted the blurb about a supposed 7-CD 'Xenophobia' set as an announcement of a new project. I think he did it to prove a point. I suspect NPGMC received a lot of e-mails concerning the fact that (once again) the bootleggers in Europe have beaten Prince to the punch and released the Celebration performances which fans are now paying top dollar to scoop up. I guess in response to this, Prince was just sort of saying [i]"Well, damn, what if I had just sent you the same thing you just spent $400.00 on?"[i] But notice that no where in the post does Prince say, "A 7-CD set of the Xenophobia Celebration is in the works." (not that he would ever make such a succinct statement ). Yet he has made it clear that ONA-Live will see the light of day.

I do NOT believe that this 7-CD set exists, and ONA-Live will probably be the only live album released for the foreseeable future. The only 'Xenophobia' club members are likely to receive will be the already completed studio album. I'll bet he's sorry he ever put anything about a 7-CD set on the site now that the entire club is expecting TWO live multi-disc sets within a few weeks of each other!

Having said all of this though, I'm probably completely wrong about all of it...
