Prince has been obsessed with miniature ponies for years. In fact at one time, during Lovesexy I think it was, he apparently actually liked to pretend he was one! Prancing about back stage...whinnying ( or whatever it is they do ) and eating sugar cubes. I remember before one particular concert I asked the road manager "do you think it will be a good show this evening?", he said "I'm not sure, actually", "Why is that?" I said, "Prince is a little horse tonight"

I just picked up the ring tone!

Believe it or not the story is true. As a matter of fact I was invited to Paisley Park to visit with Prince. I produced a documentary that appeared on BBC America about abuse suffered my many horses at the hands of black market traders. Anyway, Prince wanted to meet me to talk about the documentary. Much to my surprise, he led me to his stables and said he wanted to present me with my very own miniture albino pony. As soon as he started to hand me the reigns I immediately recoiled and turned away. He tried to assure me the animal was harmless, but I refused to acknowledge the animal. Well, Prince was pissed and asked me if this is how I normally show my appreciation for someones generousity. He actually seemed like he was going to cry. Everyone was speechless. He then demanded that I answer him, to which I said: "I'm sorry, but don't you know you can never look a gift horse in the mouth?"
