Princely vibe on Timberlake's new CD

I heard he said this CD was very Prince-ish

Check out the song "Sexy Ladies".....if you can't imagine P takin vocals on that song eek

Another is all in falsetto and a few others really sound Prince influenced but to me Sexy Ladies was the most obvious

I agree. The vocals reminded me of Prince alone, then there's that squiggly Minneapolis synth line during the hook too. nod

Definitely. There are linn sounds in at least two songs, and the vocals on Damn Girl are totally Prince, IMO. It's actually a quite enjoyable album but his boyband/MJ-like slick backing vocals get on my nerves quickly.

Sexy Ladies has a nice bass, too. If only the snare sound wasn't so weak, that's gotta have some punch.

"Until The End of Time" completely has Linn drums.

I know this is Timbaland's work.

Princely vibe? You mean the fact that it's pure crap?
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

One review of Sexy Back I saw called it "joyless".

That about sums it up.

Isn't 'SexyBack' an instrumental version of Loose played through a tea-strainer with faux-angst lyrics?

Remember, Justin nicked the bassline of 777-9311 for that 'Lovin' it' single too.

Wow, I never thought of that but you're right. I need to hear this CD and see what's up with this.

That don't remind me at all of Prince. He screams (quite weakly I might add). that is it. I don't hear no Prince here.

They robbed The Time on that one. Pharell is going too far here.

Pharell had nothing to do with this album, right? It's all Justin and Tim

this record clearly has a Prince vibe including the first single Sexyback. Not mad at Justin or Andre 3000...they are not nor ever could be Prince but they are willing to step outside of the incredible dumb hip hop and pop sphere of todays music and created music that at least sounds fress compared to what others are doing

I just heard it and you are so dead on it. There's even a song on there, I think it's Damn Girl, he sounds like 90's Prince. It's not a bad CD at all. I have to say I enjoyed it but it kinda dragged at the end but it's not bad at all and that's a lot for me to say considering that he's been on my shit list since the Superbowl incident.
