He is a very unique man.
very shy at times, a great sense of humor when he is feelin comfortable,a high respect for himself... somewhat arrogant cuz he knows hes good ... has high standards for others...if u dont meet his standards, then he dont have much time for u.
I like his style.

Seriously, it is probably the last thing most of us would realy want to do deep down. When many people meet their idol they often turn out to be real ass holes and ruin their fans lifelong "worship" in a second. And I would say that Prince would indeed fall into that category.

Would I really want to engage in conversation with him? It would bore the shit out of me discussing god and Warners. A quick handshake - yes, but thats all.

YES I MET HIM ONCE. VERY APPROACHABLE. VERY HANDSOME.NO I'M NOT GAY, BUT THE MAN IS FINE!!! I WAS GAY FOR LIKE 5 SECONDS.

HIS VOICE WAS DEEPER THAN I EXPECTED.
HE WAS VERY DIRECT AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT.

I ENDED THE CONVERSATION AND WALKED AWAY. DON'T ASK WHY.
MAYBE IT HIT ME THAT I WAS ACTUALLY HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH HIM. I SHOOK HIS HAND AND SAID WE WILL MEET AGAIN.ALL THESE YEARS OF WANTING TO MEET HIM AND I DIDN'T ASK ANYTHING THAT I REALLY WANTED TO.

I CAME OFF AS LESS OF A FAN AND MORE FROM A BUSINESS STANDPOINT. MAYBE THAT WAS MY MISTAKE.

I GUESS I DIDN'T WANT TO SEEM GETTY OR MAKE HIM FEEL LIKE I WAS JOCKIN'. I GUESS I WANTED TO BE RESPECTED TO.

I'LL NEVER FORGET IT THOUGH. THAT HIGH LASTED FOR A MONTH.

No, I am one of those people who apparently make him uncomfortable, so he has never spoken to me. It used to depress me that I was one of the "banished ones" and he didn't like my karma or something. Now I don't want to meet him anymore.

I have personally never met him. At the 2001 Celebration, me and my friend waved at him as he was walking around the sound stage and he waved back. The night before the end of the 2001 Celebration, my friend could not contain herself anymore and she walked up to him and asked could she shake his hand he said yes so, then he shook her hand. She said thank you and he said you're welcome. He was really nice about it. That's the closest I've been. I had a couple of other opportunities during that celebration, as well but, I just did not know what to say plus, I hear that he doesn't like to shake hands so, I did not want to ask for a hand shake.

Ricco, what happened with the art you created for him for the Cele that you were not permitted to give him?

Hope this doesn't rehash hurt, but I just never heard and have hoped you triumphed in the end.

Your art is beautiful.

Met is a strange word that can mean so many things but generally implies a brief and/or superficial interaction with another. And anyone who admits to anything more probably wouldn't be believed, or they would at least be challenged to somehow prove what happened through details suggesting "you had to have been there." Evenso, what do they have to prove? In fact, why should they care to share? Would it then become a battle of big egos ending with a pitiful diagnosis of what truly motivates our ACTions? A simple "yes" simply won't do, no? But for those who DO know, we look forward to more.

Hmmm...well to some yea, maybe big egos, to say that u have "met" Prince...
but to others such as myself, it was just an encounter,
to have crossed each others paths with eye contact and verbal exchange...
from him to me AS WELL AS from me to him...
I would love to cross paths with all good souls ...that are respectable people, that have positive energy...and most of them are not of superstar status.

Prince had the pleasure to encounter me as much as I had the pleasure to encouter him. wink

Sooo, its not just that he is PRINCE (the rockstar)
its who he is, not what he is.
A passionate soul, who has grown and reachin out to become the best possible person he can b, one who loves God and is not afraid to say it regardless if he gets slammed for it or not, someone who pursues his intrest and love, regardless if its the popular choice or not...and hes clean..lol..thats a big must...give me any person like this and it would b my pleasure to cross thier paths, regardless if his name is Prince...
sure everyone has their downfalls, but its ones choice if u attempt to grow and correct them, or if u allow them to keep u down.

Now, if Prince was of bad character and had negitive vibes, I would have no desire to touch his hand and definetly would not want to look into his eyes...let marylin manson or the insane clown possee (lol whatever they r called) be on the same side of the street as me...Im crossin the street...LOL

not too sure Y u took it the way u did, as people simply wanting to ego boost, even usein the word battle in there. One of the things I agree with Prince, is when he says:
"sometimes the way people perceive things tells alot about themselves."...not to b quoted but the meanin remains the same.

People need to perceive Prince as their equal...if u cannot do that, then u got some work to do on ur own self.
as i have said before...Prince is a person just like u n I...he just sings a little better then us, plays a little better then us, dances a little better then us...and looks better then U cool
peace heart

i met Prince in Miami on 13 october 1999 at a cocktail party hosted by Clive Davis...the party followed a performance by prince...to say the very least, it was a dream com etrue...Prince was very polite and joking around...larry graham was there and he was pretty cool as well...the second time was in NY at the NPGMC launch party on Valentine's day 2001...we had a brief discussion on spirituality and music...very cool...i've heard horror stories about Prince being an asshole and arrogant...he was nothing more than honest and sincere when i met him.

Can't you Understand why a lot of Fans REVERE Prince? His Talent Overwhelms them. I'm sure nobody seriously thinks he is God or Jesus. The Fans just really Dig his music and he's indeed Special in our Eyes. Anybody getting Psychotic over it needs a BRAIN Check and an Examination at their local PSYCHIATRIST. I personally love the Guys that dress and have the hair thing going on. It's such a fun thing really. Isn't wild to have that much Charisma and power over people that they just lose their Freakin Minds? Too have so many Women Screaming for you. What a High! But I guess he could think it scary too, or just funny. Well sometimes we are Freaks. But it's a good thing for sure.

Deep. Thanks much for those words. You DO know. I'm sure it'll be a pleasure for him (as much as for you) when you meet him again. He is inspired by many things, especially people, and I'm sure he'd enjoy exploring souls like you a bit further. Peace.

PLuv Yes of course Prince is a person ,but like you and me? Are we musicans? Are you in Show Business? You are not in the same League. Sorry but we would not be considered his Peers. Remember Jury Duty? Well his PEERS are in Show Business. Until You or anyone Else becomes a Millionaire in Show Business I would remember that Prince is Indeed Quite a Special Person. Fans are wonderful, but we just aren't his PEERS. You can go onstage cause he is KIND enough to Allow you,but you are NOT Prince and you are not the Star. I think Prince is WAY too Generous sometimes and a lot of fans aren't nice enough . Many of you just are Complainers and don't follow what Prince is trying to Convey through his music. I find this a Shame.

I thought she was talking spiritually. Many Prince fams feel connected to him in this way and therefore may regard themselves as his peers. Maybe she'd like to expand on this?
