everybody i think has heard original songs played by others or themselves in theyre sleep do u think some of his sleep motivated him? fill me in with such nonsence !!!

I'm not a musician but I occasionally dream I pick up a guitar and know how to play it perfectly. There was one time when I seemed to be composing an entire concept album, in my sleep I heard the first 3 songs perfectly and even woke up remembering them for a while! That was a few years ago but the weird thing is I recently heard a George Clinton song that I swear I'd never heard before that sounded almost identical to the first song from my dream! Perhaps there really is a collective dream consciousness memory!

I'm sure Prince dreams music, I'm sure I read in some article one time about him needing a guitar and paper next to his bed in case he wakes up and needs to remember a tune he's dreamed. There's even a line in the song 3 Chains O' Gold:
This morning I wanted a cup of coffee
But I didn't have any cream
Last night I wanted some inspiration
But I didn't have any dreams

ur muse lives in ur dreams, and somewhere, its a real place, and she's a real person. a very generous one at that! lol

I have had dreams on many occasions where in one dream I would hear nothing but drums in what sounds to be a perfect rhythm. And in others it would be a piano too. Songs that I have never heard before..But there was no scenary or people. Just sound
