I'm not saying that to offend you, but I know all too well what it feels like to be called crazy and insane by people who can't really be bothered seeking to understand me. They just see what they want, which is usually what they already are. Either that or they can't grasp anything in my 'personality' that rests outside what they know or are familiar with in 'people' in general.

I've noticed alot of the things you say about Prince may very well apply to him, maybe they don't, but moreover I'm getting the picture that they apply to you Mick. Once again, not saying that to offend or put you on the defensive, but I think if the sum total of all you have learned from Prince is that he's a self-absorbed ignoramus, well that's a bit of a shame, unless you can learn from that and not be one yourself.

Its very easy to project our own psyche onto someone else, and work ourselves out through a well-known figure who seems to encompass so much of our own personalities in some form or another, without even realising thats what we're doing.

It would be nice to think threads like this could become opportunities for personal growth. I personally prefer that to talking about Prince's ass or whatever lol.

i think the void people got sucked into was a result of mass marketing him to appear to be some kind of God. When u place images of a person in front of unsuspecting folks, they forget God is behind there somewhere, and dont realise that what they are seeing is really just a reflection of themselves, so they keep searching outside of themselves for happiness and love. Having found it in a 'musician', they go to him for their 'drug', instead of finding the real thing within them.

i've noticed how alot of fans are very sensitive to anything 'negative' being said about him, like its an attack on them personally. i think this is because Prince has replaced God in their hearts and minds. If they knew God/Love, they wouldnt take it personally.
