Would you be surprised if Prince played his older, more sexually explicit stuff again?

Granted,Prince is the king of contridictions but I seriously doubt he'd go back to those days.

I think those days are long gone unless we knock him in the head, give him amnesia, and tell him he's the nastiest performer alive. Then play some of his own old music to prove it to him. lol

He'll do it. Repression in an artist is dangerous.

Some of the best bellydancers in the middle east yrs ago were 40-50+ years old and overweight.(the BELLY in bellydancing) You wouldn't find them in a tourist place nowdays. Maybe in the villages. All an audience wants to see is younger, physically fit, attractive women. Kinda how it is with Prince. We'd like to turn back the clock to 1980.

Last time I was in Istanbul I saw a performance of a technically perfect dancer who was about 20 yrs old. From the neck up, she was bored out of her mind, like she had something better to do. NEVER would the older dancers distance themselves from an audience like that. They always had fun and played with the crowd. Younger isn't better!!

Don't see it, even if he was no longer a JW. He is more conservative, nothing stops that, once middle age hits.

I wouldnt be surprised, really.

Look at Bob Dylan: after a flirtation with christianity he did find his muse again.

Look at Van Morrison: after being into 'evangelistic christianity' and producing two records with 'answers', he came back to himselve and started to ask spiritual 'questions' again.

I hope Prince is bright and intelligent enough to leave the sectarian form of christianity, which JW offers, behind him. Maybe a strong, intelligent woman he falls for can take the place of Larry.. at least, its better for him.

Prince may not play these songs ever again simply because he is not in his twenties and thirties anymore. We all curse and act more rebellious when we are young,Prince just did it thru music. As you get older, you widen your vocabulary and hopefully mature, as Prince is trying to do.That's evolution baby.As Robert Plant has said, who honestly wants to see a 50 year old sing Black Dog and Whole Lotta Love?

*****What's sad is that we used to just sit back and let P just rock & shock us... I hope he dosent fall into the Dylan mold at this point... just let P be P and we will all be satisfied... if he tries t do or be anything other than himself we might all be taken a back buut i'm sure he will do us right... never let me down yet.... how about you ???

I didn't think so....

Which is a shame, really.

I wonder, is it just the effects of the natural aging process or is it societal, that we square it up when we get older?

Yeah, cuz ya know. 50 year olds never swear or have sex. They're too mature for that. nod
