The good life. I love this song! Awesome remixes on this. First half is more plebby dance based, and i dig that, but the "bullets go bang" mix is more hophop. I dig the ice cube sample "bought a house next to prince", which is also used in "Mr happy", and infact, the melody is pretty much ripped from "mr happy" too come to think of it. Also, u get prince's rapping throughout on the "big city remix". Not the best track on the maxi, but its a nice addition thats obvioisly just on the single. I dont think this was released in the US, but its worth a hunt as u can find it cheap i bet. Anyone have this? [Edited 9/12/06 18:31pm]

Remember when this was a belated 2nd-release hit in the UK? That was trippy!!!
I'm presuming you're in the UK with your use of the word 'pleb'.

Ha, we got "Exodus" and the US didn't. Is that right? Shame the "get wild" single was so crappy. Just album tracks as b-sides. I lived in the UK since 1994. The whole single flows pretty well actually.

Really? Die-hards may find the rapped version a look at. http://www.dawnation.com/...o-npg.html Damn, look at all the versions of it? I had no idea that the US got a b-side called "free the music"? My version seems to be the european/UK maxi single. And there are remixes to "get wild"? All i have seen is the crappy single with the album tracks from "exodus"

Its been in their for years as its too damn expensive. I might just get it though. I've been digging that track recently.

Pretty cool U mean "goldnigga" and "Exodus"? Both are definate highlights of p's career in the 90's. "Return of the bump squad" is one of my all time fav P cuts.

Shame the "get wild" single was so crappy. Just album tracks as b-sides. Get Wild got to number 19 in the UK charts, probably helped by Prince's appearance on TOTPs and The White Room at the time. The Good Life did even better, getting to number 15.

This song is kind of like "2 whom it may concern", it has a beat with a woman chanting "Exodus, Free the music" and inbetween her saying this are little clips of songs from the album. It only lasts about 1:30. I kinda like it. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

They were ALL essential up until he brought out The Morning Papers...at that point he got lazy, stopped the B-sides, but pre-released tracks from OTHER albums on, wrapped it up and sold it.
Id say it was about that time that the Prince I liked began to slip too
