He doesn't play anthing qnd doesn't sing it? He doesn't actually sing, but he does a bit of shouting, like 'keep singin, y'all', 'clap your hands', 'just the drums, just the drums Bobby' and various other inane asides. He may also contribute to the oh-we-oh-ing, but I'm not entirely sure. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

I love this song! Was listening to it only a few hours ago.
The original, the SOTT DVD version, ANY version! They're all great. I wish he'd still perform it.

Personally I have ALWAYS hated this song. To me it just goes on and on and then goes nowhere. I remember when I only had this on cassette I hated having to fast forward through this just to get to Adore (which is one of the highlights of the whole album). I dunno, it just doesn't move me.

I like that song but the lyrics are a bit repititous.

He doesn't sing it? So who is that singing the lead line then?

It's one of my favourite songs on the album.
Whoever says that The Revolution weren't funky, should be forced to listen to this on repeat - forever.

I love this song.
But has it ever actually been performed live in totale? On the album version, it's a "live" recording but aren't Susannah's and Jill's lead vocals dubbed in from a studio take? And on the SOTT movie, aren't Prince's falsetto vocals dubbed in post production? I wonder what it actually sounded like when they did it in France with the Revolution for the ablum take.

Always hated this track. It goes on endlessly and kills the pacing of Disc II. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I thought the performance of this song was off the damn chain! They killed the game with that one. Prince and Cat, the band, Prince on the drums. Oh lawd, I have to break out my Canadian version of SOTT on DVD. Wait, it should be on one of the digital cable channels in a minute, because it seems to be on everytime I turn on the tele. I'm not complaining though. I don't know what's crazier that it's on every other day or that I watch it everytime it's on. The recorded version is hot too. The music is quite sexy during Sheila's rap. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

The only thing that bugs me about this song is the version on the album has different words that what are printed in the lyrics for the album.
In the song: "They say that there's nothing better, than sleeping on a rainy day. We could spend the night together, come on baby, what you say?" In printed lyrics from the album: "They say that there's nothing better, than sleeping on a rainy day. We could spend the night together and tomorrow pray for rain." But, other than that, I really like it.

Love it! It took me quite a while to get into this song - I'd love the first few minutes then I'd always have to skip. Even my friends who are casual Prince fans always complain how long it is. But then... it clicked. Fantastic jam. And I love that one-pitched drone towards the end, buried underneath. In the wrong hands, it would be incredibly annoying but Prince knew exactly what he was doing. And don't get me started on the SOTT live version... even better! The horns, particularly. Gonna listen to this later before I go out.

Whoever says that The Revolution weren't funky, should be forced to listen to this on repeat - forever. Also, anyone who thinks The Revolution couldn't 'funk', try listening to "LOVE OR MONEY" without getting jiggy-wit-it.

It is a must-buy. I think seeing the SOTT DVD really enhanced my enjoyment of the SOTT album itself. Songs like Play in the Sunshine and Housequake and The Cross - I liked them, but then I saw Prince perform them on the SOTT DVD, and now they're AMAZING. Does anyone else find Sheila E an absolute sex-bomb when she does her little rap during Beautiful Night on the SOTT DVD? Her costume is fabulous.
