I want Prince to go way in the other direction again and make me think.

I want Prince to go way in a direction that makes my ass shake.

Hello! I'm right there with you on that. That's the only thing I want from Prince at this point.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I don't really like The Rainbow Children much aside from Everlasting Now

but I'm listening to a live version of Family Name right now and I love it!
That album would be so much better without the 'deep voice'.

...but yeah, I'm all for some ass shakin! booty!
If you will, so will I

I don't like the first few songs at all. When it gets to "1+1+1 is 3", then I can listen to the rest of it.

Something different would be nice. What that different is, I'll leave up to him. I'd rather he make something that satisfies him creatively and he has fun making than make decent but uninteresting music for the sake of a hit.

The other day a friend of mine was trying to explain an acid trip he'd come off of a few days before. Struggling for a description, he finally blurted out, "You could've made an album out of it, man!"

Not saying Prince needs to go lose himself in a hallucinogenic haze for 3 days to make ear-candy for us, but an album -however he wants it to sound -that leaves us all stammering for words would be this girl's idea of bliss. music

i'd like to see Prince be self-contradictory enough as to sing 'Dear Mr Man' at a fucking expensive Las Vegas show.

Prince is the Queen of Contradiction.

Come on, peeps,

Rainbow children wasnt as musically revolutionary as some of you here 'label' it, it did sound new and fresh because of the use of more organic instruments, and the real drumming of John Blackwell, but when it comes to the actual songwriting there is nothing really new to hear. And next to that it is a record with some of the most irritating, pompeous lyrics ever put unto a pop record.

Give me another Around the world in a day or Parade then, instead of that brainwashed, semi-jazz rock babble to be heard on the Rainbow Children.

I want a rock/funk album of Prince noodling on guitar like the Purple Rain rehearsal tapes. Failing that he can whistle "oh when the Spurs go marching in" through a tin can"...probly confused
