1996 the year Prince changed forever.

1996 was a major year in Prince's life and music, as far as turning points, here are a few examples, leaving Warner Bros., marrying Mayte, the birth and death of his son, changing the line up of his band the N.P.G., meeting his mentor Larry Graham ,then coverting to a Jehovah Witness and etc. Prince has always fought with his Gemini twins through out his career look at the Black Album and the Lovesexy Album for example. After all of these events it changed him, he was'nt as funky, raunchy, controversial or inovative as before this
year and with Larry Graham and other things catching him at the most vulnerable point in his career and life, Prince never needed a mentor before why now? All
of these things i feel changed his music and him as a person, Its like he grew a
conscious over night.

Forever, a person, and time how are these things linked? People change, some more drasticly then others. People change over time forever. As you just have by reading my words.

The Path one walks in life is one's life.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

He first met Larry Graham in 1977.

The meeting with Larry Graham that you are referring to took place in August 1997.

You're right, thanks for the correction...but still it seems like everything changed after 1996 and with hooking up with Larry Graham he did more harm to Prince's persona than help with his fans and music.

hmm Argumentitily I don't think that's a fair representation of friendship. However, and besides that point.

Prince's Friendship with Larry has/had to do with more importaint and relivant stuff then prince's fans and music.

It's was more about Prince finding a center. Although it wasn't really Prince's Center he found. At least he got centered.

perhaps it takes a moment 4 the inner changes 2 B reflected outwardly ~ some of the things U speak of emerging during 1996 actually started back N 1991 from my point of view....our choices create the story our life unfolds...

...the Rude Boy & the Better Man still battle it out & truly it may appear 2 the world that the lustier twin prevails ~ as long as he draws the Breath of Life there's a chance that the "Future" eye have heard of since 1988 may yet Be brought 2 earth!!!! must disagree with U MickG, my perspective is that the little man still hasn't found his Center & continues 2 ramble through the 7 caves of 4getfulness that each of us have ~ he's 4gotten who he really is!!! (naturally eye would say that~remembering as eye do)

this one gives energy 2 Healing, Balance & Growth N all those dear 2 my Heart ~ so the Better day may yet Be on its way wink

Depends upon how you define Center. Curent Centering as in a moment of life, you're correct. However, I was talking about his One and Only true center.

Hmmm...I wonder what his astrological chart was saying would be going on at this time! That would be intresting to find out...like what planets were in what signs and which ones were in retrograde and stuff.

nod nod nod totally agree MickG ~ should he stand N his center it would naturally Be reflected N his music, his life & all upon the earth would see an exceptional difference!!!! then the 'message' he was given 2 share N this world would start 2 truly emerge from his Light!!!

The only fans it did any imagined harm to are those that wanted him to remain in some Peter Pan state of suspension.

I find it interesting how some are always quick to lay blame with Larry "Jedi Mind Trick" Graham for some sort of Svengali-like spell he's put on Prince.

Do you mean to tell me that an over-40 year old man (who many of you otherwise idolize) is too foolish to make up his own mind about how he chooses to live his life?

A whole paragraph of poo.

Plus if you believe that the constellation the Sun rises in affects a persons personality, then Prince isn't a Gemini... He's a Taurus.
