What was the Best (recorded) Prince Concert? Where? When? I have seen a few of Prince's VHS Concerts.. thats what I mean by (recorded).. because I want something we all can get or see.. not a concert you have to describe.
I have seen a few: 1985 Purple Rain vhs 1988 Love Sexy germany Sign o Times vhs Rave in2 the year 2000 and out of the ones I have seen I think NO doubt Princes best conert.. his playing, the crowd, the whole energy has to be the Love Sexy 1988 Tour in Germany!! wow.. Prince was around 30 years old, you can tell he was so comfortable, relaxed in his stage feel and playing.. plus it was pure Prince.. at one point Prince dresses like a Pimp and has Cat dress like a Hooker and he pretends to shoot her??!!! and MOSTLY the crowd was amazing!! they would sing every song.. when they had their lighters out.. they actually would turn them on & off with the beat of the songs! Prince in this concert was loose, relaxed and finally learned how to focushis playing in concert! before this tour (the videos I saw).. he wanted to give so much that it came of sloppy and or flat(the 1985 purple rain concert was ok.. the 18 minute version of purple rain was good.. but it was sloppy playing and compairing it to Rave .. wasn't even close, his guitar playing) whats your thoughts,memories,ect..

It's terrific man! Prince & The revolution at their best. It's not "officially" released on vsh (it was a tv broadcast show), but some american P collectors might help you to get it.

oh, yeah! the detroit birthday concert is so fantastic. unbelievable. i can't help you get it, loco, but someone might be able to..
everything about that concert is wonderful. prince and the revolution at their best. eric leeds always said the "parade" tour was his favourite... it looks and sounds like an old style soul revue, mixed in with prince's wonderful, inspired idiosyncracies and electronic eccentricities. too much! you'll die when he sings "how much is that doggie in the window" and fall off the edge of the world when wendy conducts the audience singing "happy birthday" to prince. too wonderful!

The 1993 aftershow after the last European concert in London, it's on the Sacrifice Of Victor video. There's also the 1990 Nude Tour show from Tokyo, but that was only for TV, not released as video.

If you really want to see this. This birthday concert is available on Sabotage records. The 2nd cd is a cd-rom with the 1 hour concert and some extra footage from the Under the cherry moon party from MTV. The only bad thing is that the quality of the film is not that good, but enjoyeble. It is more fun to watch the recording from 31-12-'87 with Miles Davis.
