I have seen estimates to-date of sales of Sign of 1.6 million US, 1.6 million rest of the world. So is this an American award, because Platinum is for 1 million sales so there should only be one awarded for Sign in the US, unless they produce several editions for different people that worked on the album? In the UK I believe it is 500k for Platinum, I'm not sure it reached that figure to get a UK platinum award.

300k, or at least it used to be in those days. Yep, you're right, just checked and wikipedia has a list of the different totals needed for different countris. So I should think Sign only got awarded one Platinum disc in the UK, unless as I said, they make several copies? It certainly looks legit, I think it was a good buy.

It's funny you posted this....last week I was in an antique store and found the Gold record for Graffiti Bridge that was presented to Robin Power. Why they had it I don't know (I guess Robin needs to eat somehow!). I want it desperately, but they want $452 for it. I somehow feel that's a bit too much. But DAMN I want it!
