Prince small towns I always assumed artists couldn't do small towns with less than 700,000.
There are alot of small towns in an area of America called The South. Besides New Orleans and Atlanta there are hardly any towns above 400,000 down South. But a few artists like Janet and Prince defy this logic. Janet was perforning in Alabama, and Price in Shreveport, the hometown of my relatives in Louisiana. How? I didn't even know they had places for them to play over there. Here latly even here in Houston with 5.6 million people alot of our concerts aren't selling out or even half full. I can't imagine how har it would be to draw crowds in small towns. We can't even get Madonan in HOuston. Working up a purple sweat.

There's an old saying that goes. "Location, Location, Location"
Smaller towns can afford to pay higher yealds to major venus because there's less opitunity for large boxoffice entertainment. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I think he knows that small town people will pay to see him. I live in a town of approximately 160,000 people and when musicology came to OK city damn near everyone I knew went. So there is profit in it .

Musicology was the first time he came to my small town of about 250,000 people. It's sad that he never came sooner when it really would've blown my mind. We do get big name people here constantly -- not that they always pack the house -- but we are a region unto its own, so it's awful nice of them all to come visit us here.

Here in Jackson, MS, we are probably about 250,000 to 300,000. Prince came here in 1980 as the opening act for Rick James. He never returned here until 1997 and the rumors in the ticket line were that the only reason he came here that time is because the promoter accidently booked two shows the same week in different cities of our neighboring state, Louisiana.
He also came to Biloxi, MS in 2004 which does not have near the population that Jackson does which is the capital city of the state. However, Biloxi is on the coast and was really booming because of the casinos before Hurricane Katrina wiped the city out. Looks to me like Prince simply goes where the money is and everyone knows most people in Jackson live from paycheck to paycheck. Andy is a four letter word.

I had to work that night and couldn't get out of it so I had to end up going to Bosier City, Louisiana. Dammitt, wouldn't you know it, he added Memphis to the tour after I bought the Bosier City ticket because I would have much rather went there. He needs to just cut out all this damn foolishness and bring his ass back to Jackson. I like to sneak me some liquor in the concert and I don't need to be out of town somewhere trying to get my drunk ass back. Andy is a four letter word.
