Battle of the Popstars Live:

Jamie Theakston presents a super-heavyweight knockout contest to name the nation's favourite pop star. We pit 32 stars against each other in a series of head-to-head battles, in the form of video clips. During each 'fight', the viewers phone in and vote for their favourite pop star from each round. Our 32 stars punch their way through five successive rounds as 32 stars become 16, 16 become 8 and so on until there is just one pop star left. Who will win ? Only the public can decide!

On this Sunday at 9PM Channel 5.

Yeah, saw an advert for this. Of course Prince is supposed to be against MJ - hey that would make a great and unique thread! I'm not sure that Prince will be on this week's episode as he is not mentioned in the list supplied by my TV Times.

Prince has no chance against MJ, MJ's just got too large a fanbase, as proven by being beaten in that entry into the UK Hall of Fame a few years back by MJ, so I'm expecting Prince to get knocked out in the first round, dagnammit!

This isnt about just selling records, but who is the best musician not entertainer. Prince bein the musican and Mj beein the entertainer.

I have to agree that Prince won't get very far in this. As for the UK Hall of Fame that whole thing is a croc of shit anyway! I guarantee Robbie Williams will beat Prince by a long way because the majority of votes for this crap are from stupid adolescents who all think Prince is some archaic weirdo and who have never heard of James Brown, The Who, Pink Floyd, The Boss etc... Worth watching just to seem some interesting footage.

Plus Jamie Theakston is a nobsack.

The first year they did it, they had categories of decades, and Prince was against MJ and others from the 80s. MJ won. The second year they did the acts going in were pre-selected by some panel - and Prince wasn't included. I don't know if they are doing it again this year or what format it will be.
