PRINCE ONLINE I have been an admirer of Prince's music for quite some time. Like many, I do not like everything that he does, but I do not HAVE to like everything. I have got my fave songs, fave albums and if a Prince album is not to my liking, I move on to something else.
I have worked in recordstores for 10 years and have a pretty good knowledge of what is out there musically. Just when Prince started making music that has no soul connection to me, I discovered someone who did; Bjork. Her music is always cutting edge, like Prince, she makes her own kind of music. But her stretch goes further than that. All the albums she made have this special touch, like the Prince albums from 1999 up to Lovesexy (MY opinion). This special touch I feel in the art design, the beautiful cutting edge video's, her colloborations with artists. Every CD single has got extra's (remember b-sides, ya'll?), mixes by the best DJ's etc. Her special touch also shows on her internet site; www.bjork.com Going there is something of a masturbatory experience for Bjork fans; the latest news, info on whatever you can think of etc. Just take a look at her homepage and spot the difference compared to Prince NPGmc page. Just the choices you have to click on dazzle the mind; it takes some time to navigate through her online appearance. I realise that Prince and Bjork have different ways to present themselves; but; both are shy for the public taking a look into their personal lifes. It is just funny I have the feeling that Prince treats his online appearance differently. I like Bjork's site WAY better. So, go take a look and tell me what you think. Wouldn't it be fun to be able to click on any Prince cover online and get the info you get like they offer at Bjork's site; including all the lyrics? And if you have any sites that have kewl ideas for Prince's site, let me know. Let's brainstorm and instead of whining about things; let's find ways to make things better. Maybe someone around Prince is interested enough to pass these things on.

goey...i pointed out the same thing in a previous thread...wellbeyond and I ended up in a very heated debate...Wellbeyond felt that the npgmc and its $100 fee had an advantage over Bjork's free perks...
Heres what I got from Bjork: Advance ticket purchase options for all website members (no cost) Downloads of all videos released from Vaspertine to all visitors of her website (no cost) Interactive website with forums (no cost) Vaspertine pre-release contest (no cost) NEWS NEWS NEWS!!! --- Sure, she doesnt have a celebration or allow fans to sit during her warm up...but then, you have to pay $100 bucks for that crap.. (which as we all now know, isnt guarenteed to all fans). Within a two year time period Bjork fans have gotten two new albums, a movie, a Swan Dress :O, and coming up soon a greatest hits disc PLUS a BOXED set including a whole slew of unreleased tracks and Bjork's finally embrassing her classical training (whatever that means)... Oh yeah, its great to be a Bjork fan...Has Prince even considered releasing a Boxed set?

Boink cries like a cat in heat getting fucked with an icepick. I'm happy that she has a good website because she is certainly not easy to listen to. Abraham Lincoln was a Racecar diver.

Ex-Moderator | I love Bjork and I love her website. How cool is it that there's a "bootography" along with the discography so the bootleggers can compare their collections to a fairly difinitive master list?
Yay Bjork!!! I'm anxiously awaiting 10/7! |
