Anyone staying/getting up to watch the show? Sunday Night Offers Annual Meteor Treat
Sun Aug 11,11:51 AM ET WASHINGTON (Reuters) - August's annual Perseid meteor shower will light up the sky over the Northern Hemisphere Sunday and Monday night, the NASA space agency says. Just before dawn is usually the best time to look for the often-showy display of streaking light, caused by the Earth passing through the tail of comet Swift-Tuttle, NASA said. The tiny pieces of comet hit the atmosphere at a speed of 132,000 mph, causing bursts of light as they burn. | |
