I think Prince should release a dvd (set) with some of his best live performances Strolling over the net, i ran by a performance i have never seen before: Prince and band on the Today show doing a live performance on a crowded street of 'Dinner with Dolores' and 'Zannalee'. A great, confident performance i must say, with Eric Leeds playing flute and sax, and Prince with a very fine voice.
In the last years i have seen so much great live-performances from him on the net (Head during concert in 1982, a vivid performance off DMSR on a some Tv-show from around 2000 - 2001, the Tavis smiley version of Reflection, together with Wendy Melvoin, even better then the album version, the extended live version of America... to name just a few) that mostly werent part of a whole concert-recording. I think its a damn shame, when he (and warner?) do nothing with those recordings. In my opinion, one day, he should collect all these great performances and put them on one, but probably more DVD's. What do you think? | |
