Which old album best describes what you'd like the new album to be like?

I know, I know, Prince should release whatever he feels like. I agree with that but given the choice, which album's feel would you most like revisited?

I'm craving a Camille-like album. For me, that was the perfect blend of funk and rock. That album was filled with inspired, energetic, infectious music and thought provoking lyrics. As much as I love the "let's end this song with 7 different musical styles",the blatant James Brown tributes and the "let me get u out of those dirty little ol' panties" slow jams, I want a little break from those. Instead, I prefer some, shall I say "updated, old school funk and rock".

Around the World In a Day - I'm not too fond of it, but I'm craving a crazy, out-of-the-blue odd album, and ATWIAD fits the bill.

Co-sign!!! Unfortunately, it seems like the more we the fans express what we'd like Prince to do the more intent he seems like going in the opposite direction neutral

I read it also. I think it was in "Rolling Stone" in 1998. People were bitching about "New Power Soul" and Prince said he had a follow up to "Kamasutra" and could have easily released that if he had wanted to. I wanted to come through the magazine pages and pimp slap him. lol

What I meant to say was the Kamasutra. You see, lately I've been having troubles sleeping and I'm in need of soothing, relaxing music that I can play for the local seniors bingo hall and... lol

I was drunk when I typed in "1999". You see I went back and edited my post to my real choice. I hope he never does another "1999", that's the worst album he's ever done.
