Hide the bone........... I just dont know HOW many times I have said this on here BUT this is such a good tune!!!!!
Got it on now - and It just cant be listened to quietly - has to be played loud - to appreciate his voice - the words - the funk..... What more can I say????? 'Ive never been 1 2 hide my feelings, Baby, u blow my mind I painted your face upon my ceiling, I stare at it all the time...' http://www.myspace.com/welshmess

When I first heard this song, I couldn't believe how good it was. It was inconceivable to me that it was never released. I'm sure it would've been a hit. The problem was it was on an album loaded with a lot of subpar material. The song got lost

It's a great fun song but with a rather childish, embarassing lyric.

I've heard it on radio once, don't think it could be a hit though.
But it's a great funk song, don't understand why he didn't put this on an album. Anybody knows from wich period it is? Love4oneanother

Agreed! This song is HOT and I know it could have been a hit if it had been released in 1994 or 95.His mediocre 'Come' CD could have really used a song like this! This is one of the funkiest jams that he did in the 90s.

I think it was recorded in 1993 and at an early stage,it was considered for The NPG's 'Exodus' and Prince's own 'TGE'.I'm sure Boris would have more info

I think he concidered it part of his NPG Exodus set.
I saw him play it live at the recording for the UK TV show The White Room, where he was performing as Tora Tora (in the head scalf) to promote Get Wild.

From a Boris post on the Crystal Ball tracks:
INTERACTIVE – May 1993
WHAT’S MY NAME – May 1993 STRAYS OF THE WORLD – May 1993 CALHOUN SQUARE – June 1993 ACKNOWLEDGE ME – October 1993 RIPOPGODAZIPPA – October 1993 HIDE THE BONE – November 1993 tracks recorded during the 1993 ‘Come’/’Gold Experience’ period. Between them, these tracks have appeared on various configurations of ‘Come’, ‘The Gold Experience’, ‘The Dawn’ & ‘Chaos And Disorder’. A pretty good period of recording if you ask me, I love all those songs.

It's a great tune, but I cant understand what he is saying in one part of it.
Can anyone shed some light? I am Princes love child!

I love it but i was sorta sad to find out that 2 of my favourite prince songs in the 90's (this and soul sanctuary) were co-written
says a lot considering he hadn't a co-writer credit outside of his band in ages

But I agree with you, alot of great songs were recorded during that period.

And don't forget GOOD LOVE which was also on the Crystal Ball project. Personally, I think if he had just released the second Crystal Ball cd separately, it would've been a tremendous hit! Good Love sounds like something from 1999. Nice poppy tune....cool.
