Amen and pass the double cheeseburger! Anyway I remember seeing Mayte making dinner for her and Tommy Lee on VH1 and guess what they were having... STEAKS! Even tho she nearly burned them to a crisp on the grill. Oh and am I the only one not surprised to find out Prince was never a big milk drinker? I can't stand it when life becomes so mundane that you actually have the time to debate what and what not to eat that is so trivial.
I'm an org elitist... totally unapproachable.

thank U for posting this link. cool

really dig the thought he states about increasing the karmic debt with each meal...pigs r 2 cute 2 eat! yes! they are love filled...and the idea about a cleaner conscience with not eating meat is solid 2.

when animals are getting ready for slaughter and they hear the screams of those being sent in for killing, a fear toxin is released into their blood and it gets in the muscle/meat that ppl eat. and, then ppl assimilate this fear in2 their body.

when we stop the brutal murder of these animals, especially the cows, then, and only then, will peace be possible.

I used to be a vegan in '98. I used to be really passionate about it too. I think that is cool that he is a vegan or vegitarian. I try to only purchase free range meat because those living conditions that those chickens go through are just so awful...they are literaly driven mad because they have to be in cramped quarters and not only is that inhumane but why would I want to put something in body that literaly went insane prior to my eating it.

Mayte did not "influence" his decision to turn veg. He pulled all the strings in their relationship. She did that because he was doing it and she did everything he told her to. If they were interviewed together at any time, he told her what to say and when to say it. You believe him when he says she cooked for them? You saw how she burned them steaks up when she was with Tommy. You know she can't cook. She couldn't even turn the grill on without getting scared.

After her marriage ended, she went back to doing things she wanted to do which included eating meat. That is not hypocritcal. She changed her mind and lifestyle because at last she was allowed to make decisions for her own self.

Prince lied more during that time in his career than ever before in interviews. All that shit blah blah blah from a guy who dines on fish still from time to time. The last time I checked, fish don't come from seeds or fall from trees.
He changed his mind. She changed her mind. How does that make her a hypocrite? She got blamed for a lot of his sillyness and it is totally unfair.

Everytime Prince got interested in something, anything, he would go totally apeshit and berate people who were not into whatever he was into at that time. Keep in mind, he was talking all this shit at a time when he beleived in reincarnation and whatnot... When he made his transition into the JW thing, the Rainbow Children was his vehicle for getting all gung-ho on the JW thing. I just wish he'd chill out when he makes some new damn discovery and not go so crazy with it all. He's sounds like a complete nut in this interview.

lol

I didn't know he lied when he said that Mayte turned him onto it
I can imagine he did tho
She always seemed so obedient and restrained when she was around him confused

Seems i was wrong calling her a hypocrite

This is a perfect example of why Prince should not give interviews. "Fans is short for fanatic"? Meat eaters have a "barbarian lifestyle"? I accept his food choices, but why make judgements about those who prefer meat.
On another note, I got drawn for turkey, elk and deer this year. Yeah!!!

Agreed. I can't stand vegetarians that feel the need to criticize other people's way of eating.

But it ain't just limited to folks' eating habits when it comes to Prince passing judgement on people. He did this same nonsense during his "slave" period. He was unhappy with his contract that he ain't thoroughly understand when he signed it. So for that reason, everyone that had a record contract was a blind mindless sheep and he was the only one with "key" knowledge on the business side of selling music. Remember him talking about Lenny K being "still on the plantation" and how Mariah "got screwed" when she signed her deal. And getting all up in Michael Stipes' face about who owns his master recordings. I mean what the hell?
I can't stand that "what I'm doing is the only way to do shit" attitude of his. Then he was on some talk show talking about "know your role" basically saying that the reason the world is falling apart is because women don't know their fucking place. An how women wearing makeup or using cosmetics, dyeing their hair causes birth defects and shit (okay i ain't quoting exactly but we all know what i'm saying)... this is right when him and mayte split.

I understand. But I could never give up my seafood drool . I do think that when you eat mostly vegitarian or vegan meals it has an affect on you psyche as well. Emotions seem to be more stable and I even think people become alot less depressed and negative.

As for the Mayte thing, she has a right to change her lifestyle if she wants to..it doesn't make her a hypocrite in the least...that was how she was feeling at this period in her life but maybe later on she feels a different way and wants to eat meat again. There is nothing wrong with that.

As for Prince and his newest craze..umm well he's obvoiously a passionate person about the things he believes in and I think that's cool...but yes he does have a tendency to become preacy and moralistic sometimes..but that is just his way I guess..he means well. wink

I think the Lenny comment was in Q magazine September 1998.
And he said that Mariah stuff on Jay leno, don't remember the year.
I wanna say he said that "know your role" stuff on larry King and I am pretty sure that is correct.
The cosmetics jab (which I say, was directed at Mayte).. I cannot remember if I heard him say it or saw it in print.

Cool. I can see a fair few of the points he was making to be fair. I've been a vegetarian for about 5 years but I never realised Prince was I thought it was hinted at in afew songs but nothing was ever clarified for me. Thanks for solving a question of mine! lol
JaneyPoos used to be it... then they changed what it was. Now what I am isn't it and what is it is strange and frightening to me...
