Relationships end, people move on. I sometimes wish we would afford the guy the same things we would want others to afford us. Fair point. I rarely give Prince consideration in my life when I make my daily decisions. However, I do consider I have some responsibility to people who have paid money on the basis that I have said they will be offered certain things for a period of time. Which is why it was a stupid thing to describe payment to the club as 'lifetime membership'. I cannot recall having established a relationship with someone and told them at the outset that it will be for a 'lifetime', subject to payment of money. It wouldn't surprise me if records are maintained to enable past subscribers to access any future offering, but the absence of a clear explanation of this is poor (albeit not untypical). .

I agree that someone can take religion to the extreme, alot of people can become so addicted to it like a drug..I think alot of drug addicts can get hooked on religion to try to distance themselves from drugs, so their addictive personality just goes from drugs to becoming heavily involved in religion. I've known lots of people like this, but you have to ask yourself which is more damaging? To my knowledge Prince has never had a drug problem but maybe he has done things in his life that made him a very unhappy man and this is his chance at getting his life on track. You don't know what he did or who he hurt so I think it's great if he is using JW religion to become a better person. But I agree with you life is about balance and at times I think he can come across as highly judgemental and less than objective about others and that is partly due to his religon I think. But I honestly think his heart is in the right place.

I would be very intrested in what he has to say if he held spirituality classes. I love his songs, but it's because I think the guy is magic.

Catholicism is very ritualistic and cult like. I grew up in it. Though you go thru the books you don't really learn anything. I still have the Hail Mary's etched in my brain. What's the point of those?! Never got the point of Latin mass either...especially since most didn't speak it. What's more cult like than that?
I'd rather talk to someone that had one day's worth of truth than a lifetime of stuff that doesn't quite add up. Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality? - Stupify

I'm sure you will understand that some people here will consider (rightly or wrongly) that attending mass 6 days a week for 8 years when it is condicted in latin - followed by a religion class - also gives someone's apparent spirituality the semblance of cultish behaviour. . It's your average parochial school education in the 60's. Don't think I had a choice in the matter. I didn't. Needing a spiritual advisor present for work, interviews etc seems odd. I think now days it's mass just one weekday and it switched to English after a graduated from 8th grade.(1969)

Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Hobbitch said;
Exactly. When I read 'lifetime', I read lifetime of the Club as I have been a fan from the beginning and 'know' Prince. I don't particular feel I am owed anything since the club closed, but it would have been nice to say goodbye, exchange info, get some of the notes I had over there that had contact info, etc.
This is exactly why it's a good idea to have agreements in writing. The website described the status as lifetime member for the $ paid. Not lifetime of the site. He just flaked out. (still hoping he'll grandfather fans into new site Speaking of flaking out, this is one very good reason I'm not interested in Spirituality Class conducted by P and his spiritual advisor. You're lucky P shows up. Maybe P could start a new lifetime website and give spiritual advice. Of course for a small fee. Since I already put my time in, with spiritual guidance, in gradeschool, I'm not interested. [Edited 8/26/06 16:30pm]

Otherwise, it's up to anyone's interpretation. IN black and white. This eliminates conflicts regarding terms.The web closed 3 wks after I paid my fee. I wasn't offered reimbursement. I called the # of the club which was on my credit card statement and did not receive a response to messages left. It a shady way of doing business. If you pay a roofer $10,000 to replace your roof, and you have a lifetime agreement, the guy skips town and you have a leak, did that mean "lifetime of the business"?
