Their has been many tracks recorded live befor. Try James Brown Live at the Apollo in 1962.
Or if you mean a live track on a studio LP, then James Brown has been doing that since the early 1960's. PRINCE: Always and Forever

... and for the record, "Adore" is a 100% studio track. It only sounds live because it uses the crowd noise from "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night" to segue into it.
The whole concept of using the basic tracks from a live recording and re-working it in the studio has been done for decades - well before Prince. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

Do u mean live tracks on studio albums? or just live albums all together, cause live albums have been around for just about as long as studio albums.
A good example i can think of off the top of my head Jane's Addictions 1st album which is self titled is a live album which was done in 87 which is before SOTT only just, so if thats where ur comin from P was never the 1st person 2 do so. Tool also have an album i forget which one but half of it is live tracks, mixed with studio tracks.....but that was done in the mid 90s..... Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. Do you read me Lieutenant Bowie, I said do you read me...Lieutenant Bowie | |
