What if we don't own and do not want to buy the album of the week? News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

where's Romance 1600 or Jill Jones? I'd rather listen to them than to Kamasutra

If you're reffering to GoldNigga Mick I think U should get it, some nice stuff on there. If U're reffering to the very best of, just make it up on your ipod from the Hits / Diamonds & Pearls. Alternatively you can create your own 52. Theres tons of unofficial stuff like The Undertaker or Camille to choose from. Other official omissions include Jill Jones, Carmen Electra, Mayte and the Chaka Khan album or that 94 East Stuff. If U can't make 52 try doing it with vague associates, like the Like a Prayer album which includes Love Song or the No Doubt album which has Waiting Room.

My 2 favourite ommissions Freek. I left Romance out cos Prince only wrote I think 4 of the tracks and Jill Jones didn't sit right between madhouse and SOTT cos the songs tracks were all written way earlier. Stuff like 1800 New Funk and Kamasutra mightn't be as good but they are more recognisably Prince albums with those giant on the covers n all. Do I have U convinced? Actually Jill Jones is probably worthy of inclusion. We could bump The Truth up to the same week as Crystal Ball since they came in the same case. Does that work for ya? [Edited 8/22/06 15:49pm]

SOTT has 2, Emancipation & the Hits/Sides 3 etc. I've Emancipation and Crystal ball so I guess that could be =+2+2, but I hate Crystal ball and plan on selling it next time I list things on ebay, so that would be -3 (because I plan on keeping "the truth"). My wife had SOTT so that would be a +1, and I have two copies of 3121 so that might also be a +1 though it should be a -2 because there were only 3 mildly palitable songs on that album so that's less then ONE. I wouldn't know. I only like the orignal Matrix Movie. The part two and three were shear crap, and after seeing both once I flushed it down the memory toliet News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

DAMN! I didn't realize Prince did all that! Does he ever sleep? LOL! I love a Man who:

Yes I am a harsh Judge, but I'm the Harshest on my personal stuff. The hardest person I am harsh on is myself. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

Freekclaassen and Nouveau are right, we can't leave out these two classic albums, Romance 1600 and Jill Jones. I checked that Romance actually only has 3 contributions from Prince which makes it less of a Prince album than say Carmen Electra but it does contain a slammin' 12 minute version of A Love Bizarre which made No. 11 on the Billboard charts. How can we leave off an album with a truly classic Prince top 20 hit. Jill Jones also deserves inclusion because of it's brilliance and its completly written by Prince much like The Family album.
I've edited the list to include them. The Truth has been bumped up to Crystal Ball week cos they were released together much like the hits / b-sides and The Very Best of Prince is deleted because it offers nothing which hadn't already been releases elcewhere. I'm doing this Project next year just in case we don't get anything new.

I love this idea. I have all the CDs so I'll give it a go each week in the car.
One problem. Can you really expect me to play Goldnigga or Karmasutra for a whole week each!?!?!!? .

Actually, Prince wrote every track on Romance 1600 except one.

Thats funny I actually had Goldnigga spinning in the car for most of the week with Exodus and NewPowerSoul. I finally flipped tonight going down to the shops and had to throw on some old skool with Extra Loveable.

Actually, Prince wrote every track on Romance 1600 except one. thedawnexperience.co.uk databank experience section claims its only 3 but they've been wrong before. Nice UK site though if you haven't seen it you should check it out. Hope you didn't mind me altering your positioning of C-Note but I did give you a mention for compiling the original source list. While you're there did you ever hear of a 200 balloons extended version? I downloaded an extended 17 days before but I'm sure it was never officially released so mabye the same thing happened with 200 balloons. By the way which was the one track he didn't write on Romance? [Edited 8/23/06 17:12pm]

Merci for the speed of your response. Are you happy with the 52? I think we have all the best / most relevant ones in now. I'd probably take out the best of compilations and add in something else to replace them.... I guess the highest input albums would be stuff like Mayte and Carmen Electra?.... But it's your thread. It's a neat idea, I'm gonna play along.... a whole year, huh!
