American Bandstand is one of the first, if not the first TV show Prince performed in. That is so classic because it's like night and day with Prince then and now. It is quite appropriate for P to do a show that would be a tribute to Dick Clark because of that. This is really good stuff. biggrin

The least he could do after he acted like a total jackass on that show. giggle

Yes, and i think it's even more fitting that Simon Cowell leads the tribute to Dick Clark on the actual awards show (the party isnt in anyones honour)
A perfect end for Simon and Dick's tumulutous history too!

I did say it wasn't confirmed that it was a party in Dick Clark's honor but that I heard that it may be and that I was waiting to hear news about it if it was or not. But the point is, he is performing at the Emmy Aftershow party. Anyway, like I said we all do things when we're younger and older that we regret later. It's when you realize what you did and make up for it that matters. Anyway, it's nice to know he'll be performing. He did do some shows at a very cheap price, whether he was the "special guest" or not earlier this year. It was a chance for those to still come out and see him play. I see nothing wrong with him performing for the hollywood crowd, he can do what he likes, we're not his master, boss or whatever you want to call it, it's his life.

absolutely. thats a rational way of looking at it. i just dont see the purpose of being excited, like some ppl get, when he performs somewhere that we cant get into and that isnt televised..."good for him" we all cheer...why?!

theres nothing "wrong" with him performing for anyone, but considering he fired everyone at NPGMC you'd think he'd give fans a lil something, instead of ppl who dont know what the fuck NPGMC is to begin with

The news was that Prince will be playing at the People Magazine/ET post Emmy party.

I've lost the info on when the Emmy's are on. They will be airing on NBC.

Not "excited" just happy for him. He's a legend and still in demand. I think of a lot of artists from back in the day, that wish they were in demand like he is at this time. As far as the club closing down so suddenly, I'm sure he had good reason, considering his divorce and trademark issues. Members would have been asking too many questions and they probably just didn't have the staff to handle it.

It was time for a change anyway, there was a lot of not so nice things being said over there during the last 3 months it was up. Kind of took away from it being a warm atmosphere if it was at all. I wasn't there much, just every once in a while. But life goes on. If he does have another website, I'm sure he won't want it to be anything like the last one. He doesn't need all those unnecessary forums. Maybe this time it will be just mainly for purchasing music and he'll let us give our opinions of it from time to time, like he did with the demo thing. Sorry if you feel differently, you are entitled to your opinion of course.

Just an FYI regarding the tracklist 4 Ulitimate Prince, it was NOT
done by Prince, but it was done by Club Kid, who is formerly from L.A.
but now reppin' the NYC.

This CD was a CONtractual obligation and if it was up 2 the man
himself, it would NOT be released at all.

It was part of the agreement made in 1996 2 release him from the
CONtract in the 1st place.

That is 1 reason I want 2 get this project because it marks the end,
finally, of his Warner Bros. CONtract, and now, really truly is FREE.

I don't get this. So they do teasers about him being on the show, then they only announce that he's playing at an afterparty? Why announce this anyway? Do they air it? It's no open for the public anyway, is it? confuse

very interesting anyway, we just happened to b watching ET and Mary H. kept giving these hints so we kept watching. It is a mystery to me that they would announce an afterparty unless the famous people r having to fight for seats. lol What, u mean they figured out that its a concert not to b missed! Anyway Peace and love to yall

I guess they'll be other Emmy afterparties and they just wanted everyone to know that People Magazine's/ET Emmmy aftershow party was the hottest ticket in town, because remember when he was throwing after award shows parties in hollywood in 2005 and 2006 and word got around that his performance is not to be missed. Then remember he never used to make himself so available back in the day. I'm sure he was asked to do this and it wasn't like he volunteered.

That really had nothing to do with this thread, did it? That was relating 2 Ultimate Prince and the old WB contract. Back on topic I guess.

I know. Are we (the average muhfuggahs) gon' get to see this shit? it is doubtful. We'll only be able to watch Debra Messing and that dude from Greys Anatomy and 'em give quickie out-of-breath interviews about how aweeeeesome it was 'n shit.

God doesn't just tells me how much he "LOVE's" me, God shows me how much he "LOVE's" me. Both telling and showing "LOVE" means to "LOVE". They go hand in hand. You can't have one with out the other. Something is spoken, then followed by an action. That is
