"We aint scared of you muther f*ckers"

Ok, i don't really know if i have a point to my post, but i'm so excited i had to share it with somebody.

Due to a new found 'source', i've recenly got bigtime into bootlegs again, and some of this shit is tearing me up biggrin

It's just struck me why i love this man so much. It's his attitude. He has to be the baddest man on the planet.

Listening to this '93 London aftershow, 'This is my night' He's in the zone. Playing the crowd with his playing, asides, participation. Perfect.

Would be cool if the public saw this side of him. They really have no idea. Thinking he's some wet, high pitch singing, love man. He really is James, Sly, Hendrix in one little pot. Pure badness.

Anyway, our loss is our gain cool

Is this the Bagley's Warehouse aftershow? I can't remember why I never picked this up. Is it soundboard or audience? Cause the setlist is slammin'.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Yeah biggrin Got this really dry horsey voice. Slows down his delivery. Black Album/Pretty man style.

He aint putting on an act. You can tell at this moment he somehow knows he's the embodiment of all things cool. I think the group he had at the time can be thanked for bringing this outta him.. perhaps Tony M aint that bad after all wink

i like this show. i love the way he started a lot of songs during that era
by simply reciting a verse or chorus before starting the song

"what is sacrifice? i was born on a bloodstained table. chord, wrapped
around my neck. what is sacrifice?"

"c.o.m.e."
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

OK. I have this boot. It's just named "DNA Lounge Aftershow". I'll have to give it another spin. If I recall, it sounded a little muddy.

It's funny. I have heard these crystal clear boots. And when i first started playing this one - i thought - i aint gonna be able to get through it. But the murkiness kinda adds to it. Perhaps it's just me. Perhaps i just love his approach during the show so im willing to look past the quality.

Have a listen and tell me what u think Greasey. And anything you can recommend?

welcome to the dark side...

listening to studio albums will never be the same again...

you will always be searching for your next fix of live Prince...

your Prince collection will never be complete, because there's always an aftershow or concert to track down...

but if you tire of CD's there are always DVDs to seek out...

cool

Even though you didn't ask me specifically, I really like:
Black MF (Paris 8/31/93)
Paris Affair (Prince tells Paris he's going to kick their ass. biggrin )
NYC Blues/Rosland Ballroom (10/3/88)
Hotel California (BET Aftershow--my new fave)
and Small Club, of course.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Agreed. Probably my favourite boot, listen to it all the time.

Great version of 'come'. The audience chants are great in 'come', 'lets get satisfied'. Tony M sounds better live on songs like 'black mf'

Like the lyric change on 'when u were mine' - I know that you're going with another mother fucker, I dont care I love you and I wanna be your sucker'

He sounds a bad mother fucker with his sore throat.

Ooh I love the "Black MFs in the House" song. I have a Barcelona aftershow where Prince sings that song. The lyrics are kinda funny.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
