Aerogram said: One night, Prince was reading the Org and found a very hars 2Freaky4Church post. Pale and ashen-faced, he turned to Mani. "This guy is really getting to me", he said. "Don't worry about it, honey", she said flipping through a copy of Voque. "Why are you so dismissive?", he asked. "If you don't think I give you enough support, maybe we ought to split!", she said. "Oh yeah? How dare you", he said. "I dare", she replied.
Thus the Org caused Prince to get depressed AND divorced. The End [Edited 8/17/06 22:12pm] U are a GENIUS!!!!!

If he is worrying about what we think of him, then he needs to stop that shit NOW. All he needs to worry about is doing what he does best, making music and funky music at that. If a fan isn't down with what he's doing then they are free to wait for the next thing or step down and go somewhere. Many of them that do the latter find a way to be back as we see with some orgers here. Prince needs to do him and only him. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I don't think Prince is one of those artists who gets too wrapped up in what his fans think of him. Obviously, he's aware of the praise and criticism, but he seems to keep a healthy distance between himself and fans who don't even have a clue who he really is. And from a mental health standpoint, that's probably best.
Look at how many artists go crazy trying to please all their fans all the time. I know some fans would love to think they have power over some guy thousands of miles away who they don't even know, but they're just kidding themselves. Prince will continue to be Prince, and will continue to make music...whether you like it or not.

This is a scary thought, but it's not improbable. For instance, back in the day we all used to think Prince was above commercial concerns. We now know we were totally wrong about that. He may also be more aware of us than we'd previously thought. I hope not though. Anyway I thought the majority of orgers loved Prince's latest stuff!

many mothers take their children OUT of public schooling because they are misunderstood and critised instead. they're self-esteem is lowered because their hearts are hurt, their minds are hurt, their spirit is hurt, from trying to learn in a predominantly ignorant environment.
the most 'different' are the kids with the most 'fans'. but alot of children don't know how to express their appreciation honestly and openly, so they seek attention from the one they admire, by picking on them. this kind of treatment leads the 'different one' to develop an immense ego, in self defense. trusting life and all its lessons, is one of the greatest tasks such a 'different one' will ever have to face. on the other side of the rainbow, all the poking and prodding is revealed as Love. it teaches Wisdom, Humility, Grace and Self-Respect, by awakening the 'different one' to its own True Identity. such is my experience. x " the embassy shut to keep the fools out " - as above, so below.

That's a bold face lie. I laugh to myself every time I go into a store that sells music. Like last night I was at a super target. I always check such stores for rogue copies of "Ultimate Prince" because you can sell them for double the purchess price. Like most of the time, there were no UP to be had, however there were 6 or more copies of 3121 with the gold sticker. 1 out of 7 "golden tickets" were found. That tells me they only sold 1/7th of the cd's they ment to sell by that date. So let us stop lying to ourselves and/or prince. The album went belly up. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

He waited 2 years after Musicology to release 3121. I think he rode Musicology out and look what we got next. If Prince listened to his fans we would have a new double cd every six months.

I love the new album. I downloaded it from napster BEFORE the CD came out, then went out and got the CD too! The divorce is probably having a deeper effect on him than people realize. IMO this is a guy who realy wants to be a dad(even more than a husband) and with his marriage over his new religion, he'll have to wait to find another Mrs Nelson before fatherhood is possible.

Does Prince believe in real love? Heck we all want to BELIEVE in REAL LOVE..but that's hard to say, but considering that I have been married the same amount of times that this man has, from a personal stand point of the marriage subject...marriage is BY FAR one of the most challanging aspects of life, believe me NO_ONE gets married to someone thinking..OH goodie one day we can be divorced!! Crap happens, things and people change..some things are easier to let go than others, some people are easier to let go than others. Depending on the circumstances surrounding the divorce it can have an over whelming effect on a person. Maybe this one has been really difficult for Prince and his wife., we don't know every detail of their personal life or circumstance. Maybe he needs "downtime" to work it out, maybe he is the type that needs to "throw hisself into a new project"..what ever the case maybe, I pray it will all work out for him in the end. Because of God..we 2 r 1~~Darren & Suzyn forever

If you're going be in the music business then you're going to have to deal with criticism in one way or another Whether it come from fans, Fellow artists, The press or whomever. Prince has taken it from all sides during his 20-Plus years in the business. If he couldn't take it, he would've gotten out a long time ago. Also, Prince has been known to lose interest in his latest projects for a long time now. He even cut the Purple Rain tour short so he could begin work on UTCM. UGGGGGHH!!!

At this point in his career I don't think P gets his feelings hurt by fans or anybody in the music biz. We all saw what he pulled on Idol. Obviously a man who could care less about opinion.
He fought for his freedom during the "Slave" days. If he ever really let others comments or opinions bother him he would never have been in high heels, ruffled shirts, make-up, changed his name to a symbol or released N.E.W.S. Nah, pretty sure the P man still has quite the healthy ego. He's going through a divorce, opening up all new Swiss bank accounts and trying to hire a hitman for CJ. That takes time. He'll be back. The only opinion he's concerned with is Mani's about "How Much".

It's spite. I wouldn't doubt it's 2 undermine any profits WB makes off their piggback releases. He knew 3121 would slam sale the first week or two, but then it would fall. There's no way he expected a long-term run. His promotion was shit.
It's nothing U or I say, look thru the achives, yah, he really reax 2 the desires of his legion. Any1 of us could offer up a better, more xciting, and louder website, with remixes, out-takes, vidz, live-vidz, and pix. Take yer pants off Prince and show us wot ya got!

Fans criticism of Prince is starting to hurt him.
I truly feel the answer to the above in only my opinion, just sharing.. is Of course knowing full well that all these years of hard work he has presented the world with an abundance of "composed music" that will outlast pretty much even mozart. (I was in a symphony), so dont knock me off a shelf for saying that! Even in our own personal lives people say things to hurt us (knowingly or unknowingly), but we all move forward... Sticks and stones may break our bones but names will never hurt us... we all know that one! However, in his case, I feel he has never stopped for a moment (in negativity) to even live in negativity. Hurt maybe a bit sure we all do, but move on is his best forte... and it is a must in his life, as we should all do when we are to live in love and joy with peace, as our backup! So therefore... He will be fine "this too shall pass" and ... well the sun will shine even brighter in the days ahead. FAITH (key)! Thank you. hera LIVE IN THE NOW FOR AN ETERNITY TO COME...HAVE FUN!

I have been surprised at some of the negative things said about Prince on here period...not even stuff about his last album. I can only think some of these people are not his fans but just bored with computers.
I listened to 3121 for the first time about three weeks ago. I turned off all lights, lit candles and took a bubble bath. Pretty comforting music. And I thought pretty creative. Not exactly Top 40 stuff I guess. And not as much of the Funk Romps. I thought it would be like "Around The World In A Day", more of a fan album.
