songs in the key of life. i have just listened to the complete "songs in the key of life" album for the first time last week and i must say i was very impressed. i had always regarded stevie very highly but the sheer quality he produces on almost all the twenty odd songs on this album is remarkable.
it goes straight into my all time top ten but it doesnt quite overtake "sign o the times" as my all time favourite but highly impressed mr wonder. ps..anyone who has not heard the 1967 album "forever changes" by love, i highly recommend it as a great album. | |

This album drives me crazy everytime I play it."Summer Soft" is a stunning masterpiece and "All Day Sucker" is incredibly funky.One of the best albums of all-time! | |

It's called "The Making of Songs in the Key of Life" and you can buy it at any of the larger bookstores or record shops in your area. It is amazing to watch!! Stevie pulls out the Yamaha "Dream Machine" synthesiser to show how "Village Ghetto Land" and "Past Time Paradise" Strings were created and duplicates a lot of other songs from the album. He also regroups the original band that helped create the album with him. This is a must own for any music fan!! By the way didnt Prince say that "Songs in the Key of Life" was the reason that he started recording music the way that he did on the Grammy awards a few years back? I remember that but I dont remember if it was the Grammy's or if it was BET! Hmmm.. DCM | |
