I think at least the old time prince fans must admit that the new stuff does not touch their hearts and souls as much as the "old stuff" (see various threads around here).

Well, I think that real passion for music is probably at its peak when you are between 12-25, then the "fire" gets a bit more controlled as you get older.

So, if your favourite artist in that time period was Prince, than the albums he put out will have been burnt inside you. The new albums do not have that chance - and be honest, is there anything else that you feel the same passion for now, than you had with Prince albums back then? Probably not.

So, with less passion for music in general, the new Prince albums never have a real chance!

what music? depends in what form... i'm ot the music kind YET!!! i'm working on it. if i has the freedom and time i would get more involved and/or collect. i believe in prince music, i am sorry to say but he seems to enjoy his own fate so why not?

I was thinking teh other day - many fans say Prince has lost something but when it comesto explaining what it is its always so hard to define...then I had teh definitive experience.

Listening to one of Prince Musicology shows my ears pricked up to Life of the Party and its thumping enthusiasm, pounding beat and funky bass guitar with Princ elaying his punchy vocals over the top...thats one bad ass tune I thought and, as i hadnt listened to Musicology albumn in a while, I decided to put the Studio version on.....

So watered down, weak and unenthusiastic that its hard to believe its the same song....shitty drum-machine sounding beat, no punch, no get-up-and-go

And that summed it up for me...all too watered down like he's got better things to do. Perhaps he has but do us a favour, relase soemthig after 5 years that will knock are socks off instead of the constant drivel that is like a squirrel fart wafting over us.
