nope. i'ma continue to get the goods from those who actually know what they're doing: the fanbase. rhino totally dropped the ball on what could've been an excellent set.

not what they've got on there, that's for sure. it's more or less another the hits/the b-sides. instead of steadily focusing on what jane & joe public are familiar with thanks to corporate radio, they shoulda popped in a helluva lot more things on it from the albums they gleaned stuff off of.

Have to agree with you on that handclaps. It just seems that Rhino is trying to capitalize on Prince's popularity right now, or in and around Rock n Roll Hall of Fame/Musicology time frame. Just getting on the bandwagon/coat tails of Prince through WB.

I'm undecided right now if I want to purchase this Rhino set that is out right now, although I'm some sort of a completist or along those lines-type of person. But I have my 12-inch vinyl and when I get enough money some day I am going to purchase one of the remaining few public record players and plug it into the back of my computer and listen / save the whole lot of 12-inches I have in my collection.

And yes, it seems that Rhino is just skimming off the top of what Prince has unleashed through the years. And yes, we are dealing with john q and joe q and mary su public.
