This is what I told them

I want it all...

Tour the US w/the ONA tour a couple more dates (Cause they never confirmed the date I was gonna catch)

Tour Europe (Sorry everyone else. I didn't think of those of you in Australia and the rest of the world!)

Put the acoustic set on Pay per view, video or dvd so we can all see it.

I don't want much...I just want it all! smile
I'm firmly planted in denial

We are the most loyal fans, noOne travels further to see P live, Even if its a $200 p/ticket event, he would still fill-up auditoriums here.

Well, the good news is that he is obviously going to tour Europe!

Mmmm... That's not the way I read it. The two choices are distinct and the word Europe only appears in one choice.

If what was really meant was "ONA in Europe or Acoustic Set in Europe", then to me what that really means is "can't really afford to bring over the entire band and all the gear... what if Prince just jumped on a plane with an acoustic guitar... Oh and BTW if anybody has a spare bedroom could they put him up for a few nights to cut back on hotel costs. He'd really appreciate it (He'll bring his own soya milk and Captain Crunch)"

Will it be a proper tour, or the odd night at the odd capital city? It would be great to see him live (for the first time)

Might be a question of semantics BUT I think the question really is "what kind of tour should I do in Europe".

And the answer obviously is BOTH BOTH BOTH (not that I'm greedy)

Someone higher up suggested playing two nights, first night ONA second night Acoustic. While I can't see this as being economical (because he still needs to pay the band for their days off and accommodation etc) It would be very very COOL.

I think the European critics would wet themselves with excitement.
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

THE REASON WHY PRINCE WONT TOUR AUSTRALIA

Ok, so he toured here in '92 with the D&P tour, which broke sales records at that time, and was a mass success.

The next tour was the "Act One" tour of USA (Capital cities)
Around 6-8 weeks after that tour, he toured Europe with the "Act Two" tour.
There was suppose to be an "Act Three" tour of Japan and Australia, which never happened.

P was also in serious negotiations to bring the Gold tour of '95, and the NPS tour of '98 to Australia.

So why didn't he come back '93, '95 & '98?

Money!

The promoters didn't offer him enough money. Prince has a right to make the money he wishes, but with him getting limited airplay, no singles and no major record company backing, the promoters believe that there is no market for a Prince concert, so they offer him a smaller fee thinking that (and in fact they are wrong)it won't sell out.

Sure, write to NPGMC and beg for him to come to Australia, but at the same time you have to get into contact with the promoters in this country and let them know that yes it is worth their while to bring him out here!

Maybe we could start a petition or something? It's worked with other bands in the past.

Here is an idea: Prince should play two nights in each city. The first is a traditional "One Night Alone" show and the second is an accoustic show. The best of both worlds.

Damn can you imagine the reviews he would get by the press. It would do a lot for his reputation as a live performer.

Exactly what I would think too !!! Go Prince go !!!

You know, with the Euro more or less at parity with the dollar, this is a perfect time for him to come over, cause it won't cost any more, and he can more easily work out how to much to charge fans for tickets wink

On the 'Concerts' page at NPGMC it says:

More dates will be added all year as Prince & The NPG take the music WORLD-WIDE IN 2002!

Now it's those last 3 words that Prince should remember, all those outside America and Canada should email and remind them of that.

I emailed them and said they should finish up with cities in the US he hasn't visited and then move on to Europe. I don't really want an acoustic show, I want something funky in Boston and I want it now!!! He hasn't been here in a while and he needs to pay a visit to his European fans as well.

Here's what I sent them:

"As much as I'd love to see the unplugged set, I know his European fans are clamoring for a show. Consider: without the perks of the performances and those added benefits, those guys are really paying $100 for just 4 cd's. I think they deserve a tour."

The question DID read like an "either/or". Sounded like it was either Europe OR not. I got to see him twice already this year so I'm pretty set and really think he should spread that funk around a little - not to mention live up to the proclomation of the NPGMC website (Prince & The NPG take the music WORLD-WIDE IN 2002!)

I think he'll lose a lot of European club members if they only get four $25 cd's and "Silicon" this year.

Me thinks Prince is thinking acoustic tour.
Acoustic tour is cheaper.
Much less overhead.
Things he must be considering since he has
no label or sponsors footing the bill.

This is his problem, this is a situation he choose.
I don't think most of his european fams want a cheap - or intimate - show.
I personaly don't.
