I'm guessing. They're throwing out wack ass clues like "Rock Royalty" and "Connection to the color purple" etc etc.

Just saw that on Entertainment tonight. Rumors have it that he will be performing in Hollywood at the Emmy aftershow. ET already was shown in parts of NJ and a friend called me to tell me about it. It's on now and yes they are throwing clues out that he will be performing there.

Mary Hart just said Prince will be performing at the Emmy aftershow party!!!They said it will be the "hottest ticket" in town--celebrity studded, of course.

yup perfect juxtaposition to the home movies of Jon Benet's supposed killer

Dude must be broke as hell! pimping himself out to the major hollywood parties that would just as soon accept Paris Hilton performing her new single or Taylor Hicks.

Why would you say that? They probably asked him more than likely. This will be good for him with the divorce going on and all. (okay don't slap me lol). I guess it's nice to know he's still performing somewhere since he's not touring. I doubt it if he's broke though.

Give the man a break. He likes to play. His wife left him, it's probably going to cost him a pretty penny. And he's gotta try shit out for his tour. And one thing I never understood is, since when has Prince been "underground?"

Yeah, from what a friend of mine told me, that party is suppose to be a tribute to Dick Clark , Wasn't it Dick Clark that was one of the first ones to have Prince on television? (Correct me if I'm wrong, I know you guys will lol ). So if this is true because I'm still waiting to find out, then it makes sense that Prince would agree to do this for him, to give back thanks, although I will never forget the show where Dick Clark asked him some questions and he didn't answer, now that is a historic piece of Prince and Dick Clark history. Besides, who are we to tell Prince who he should perform with and where?

I never said underground but he never pandered to a strictly hollywood a-list crowd before. sure its marketing and he has the right to do it...even though the timing is horrible and it likely wont sell anymore copies...except Warner's Ultimate CD.

He always likes toplay, play some hit n run shows somewhere besides the Hollywood hills, at medium sized clubs for a decent rate. he cant recoup his losses fast enough that way.
why do you think he charged so much for a one-off in Vegas?
American Idol and now ET? ET is pure gossip and celeb worship, something he was never involved in. Maybe its so they dont talk about his divoirce? he brokered some hush hush deal? smile

The thing is, there are very very few people in his fanbase, paying fanbase that would have had a shot at getting in on his last few performances, dont you think? thats what bugs me more than anything

So im not slagging him for playing music, although chances are he'll throw in some hits he claimed to have retired...but his reasons for playing it. dont you think he'd get a bigger thrill playing for folks he knows appreciate the chance to see him? he gets a bigger payday for doing these glamourous gigs

just a different reason thats all

American Bandstand is one of the first, if not the first TV show Prince performed in. That is so classic because it's like night and day with Prince then and now. It is quite appropriate for P to do a show that would be a tribute to Dick Clark because of that. This is really good stuff. biggrin

Yes, and i think it's even more fitting that Simon Cowell leads the tribute to Dick Clark on the actual awards show (the party isnt in anyones honour)
A perfect end for Simon and Dick's tumulutous history too!
Good for Simon!! Woo
