Did Prince disband the Revolution? Or, did Wendy/Lisa, Brownmark, and Bobby Z. leave on their own accord. I've read conflicting reports over the years. Some say that Wendy/Lisa and Brownmark left the band and leaving Prince to go in a new direction. Others say that Prince desired to go in a new direction and "fired" Wendy/Lisa and Bobby Z. Does anyone know specifically what happened?

In short: Wendy & Lisa were going to leave, but were stopped and agreed to do the Parade tour, after which Prince disbanded the group. Prince was thinking about replacing Bobby with Sheila, and the split gave him the perfect excuse. IIRC, Brown Mark was asked to stop on, but didn't.
