I dont know how many people are going to agree with me on this but this song is just great - I put it on earlier whilst cooking supper (as you do) and this song just made me dance about the kitchen like a loon!!!!
I love the words, the way his voice sounds - in all - a great catchy and fun tune..and has a thumbs up from me

I think Batdance is the most creative song on the record, but this is the best pop song.

At Prince Night we have this mix that starts with "Loose," "Rave," and "Batdance" which causes people to free their souls on the dance floor. Batdance is high energy and helps me get the "funk" of the day out of my system.

It's superb. Another 'if it had been a single.....' track.

Batman is very under-rated IMO. It doesn't really do much to push forward Prince's style at the time (it's, stylistically, basically what we heard a year or two earlier on Lovesexy, TBA and Madhouse 16), but it's a quality package, if a little pedestrian in places.

Batdance especially is under-rated as some sort of comedy record, which I think is grossly unfair.

Love the song, too. Don't know if the cathedral joke is one that Prince heard somewhere, or just him being clever. Good stuff either way.

I haven't watched the movie since 1991, but I seem to remember that scene had some really tasty guitar playing over it. I remember thinking the same thing as you. I even went out searching for an extended mix on a maxi single and being disappointed to learn that there was no such mix floating around...bummer!

But I did stumble across the Scandalous Sex Suite so it wasn't a total loss.

Love the whole feel of this track! A killer groove!

This is one of the better tracks on the album.Although 'The Future' is my fave.

My favorite song off this CD. Trust, Lemon Crush, The Future and Batdance are very close behind.

Vicki Waiting is easily my favorite track from Batman. The album itself actually has some really good songs and is criminally underrated. Nevertheless, I love the song, the lyrics seem tossed off at first but you can honestly hear some soul searching in there. I love the line:

Talk of children still frightens me, is my character enough 2 be, one that deserves a copy made, this I one day, hope 2 see.

Lot of depth and honesty..lord knows I can definitely relate.

Great song!
