I like "A Chinese Ghost Story". You ever seen that? They showed it many moons ago on Channel 4 (UK) and I haven't ever seen it since. Not really in the same league as Kung-Fu Flicks but good fun nonetheless.

I did 'kick yo ass' style for over 10 years. Nowadays if I get into trouble I just get my buddies to shit 'em up. Easy.

I practice Martial arts, I practice Brazillian Jiu Jitsu Russian Sambo and Thai Boxing.
I am training to compete in some No holds barred tournaments right now.
Now getting to your point about Jakie Chan being a martial arts god or something, you could not be more WRONG!
Jakie Chan is an acrobat, not a real martial artist and so is Sammo Hung.If you want to see someone who was a real fighter and revolutionised martial arts the way Prince revolutionised music, look no further than Bruce Lee.
This is not an opinion this is a FACT. Any of Bruce's movies are fantastic.
By the way... I think it's so sad that we are talking about everything else these days on Prince.org but Prince.
Since the Celebration ended, the music club has been boring.

No, seriously...my daughter, Melissa is a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do. Her best friend, Samantha, is a 2nd degree Black belt and the 2001 state champion of the Tae Kwon Do Junior Olympics.

At the last competition, my daughter placed 1st in Poomse (form) and 1st in sparring. It was a good day.

I think she'll continue it 4 awhile, as it's been very good 4 her both physically and mentally, as most sports r. She will test 4 her red belt at the next promotion opportunity, which is one belt away from the coveted black belt!

I never got into it but my brother in law has been into it since he was like 12 or something...now he's a 4th? 5th? something like that degree black belt and owns his own DOJO (sp?) well...his own karate school. Evans kempo karate

Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung so ARE real martial artists. I really can not believe U made that comment. They both had extremely good masters, they both trained 4 many many years, and are both very very good martial artists/fighters.

I do agree however, that Bruce Lee is far more of an innovating specialist when it comes 2 maximising yourself in combat. Jackie Chan would have never beaten Bruce in a fight, I think.

But when it comes 2 choreagraphing fights in movies and creating stunts during big fight scenes nobody touches Jackie Chan. Bruce could never do a Jackie Chan stunt. So lets leave it at that.

There was a martial arts guy in the 70s that used to make movies all the time. He went by the name of Bruce Li. I used to watch his movies on TV all the time on Saturday afternoons when I was a kid. If you couldn't find a Bruce Lee movie on TV the next best thing was Bruce Li. Seriously. And he was actually pretty darn good. But I've never heard or seen anything about him since then. And I don't know the titles of his movies. When I have time I'll look for some info.

Jackie Chan was given to a chinese theater group home when he was a child by his parents.
He was basically tortured into learning acrobatic moves like hand stands on one hand for hours at a time or until he passed out. He met Sammo Hung at the same orphanage.
While there were martial arts moves incorperated into the training, he is NOT A REAL MARTIAL ARTIST.
He is a martial artist the way that Jean Cleaud Van Dam is a martial artist.
Chan may have some very well choreographed action scenes but thats what they are, nothing more. I can hardly call a man running for his life through every scene a fight.
And the no holds barred tournament I'm training for is in St. Louis. I'm also going to try for the Hook n Shoot, and in a year the U.F.C.
I detected a bit of sarcasm when you questioned me about the tournament, but if you really want to know about requirements I'll tell u. I'm sure they all do H.I.V. tests,
and that's pretty much it.
I'm really not trying to be a smart ass, but if you are interested in joining one, I suggest you take something else than the Karate style that you take now.

Grew up diggin the man "Bruce" tried some martial arts here & there...but ended up getting in2 boxing & becoming a pro-boxer...Much props 2 those who do anything like this cause its "much work".
