"Baby"... was not exactly a "doo wop" song... neither was Courtin' time Baby was more of a soulful ballad than a doo wop form of music... Courtin time was more swing era if nothing else... just my 2 cents

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown

All of the Prince songs that I like were sung in Doo-Wop. Unfortunately time isn't on our side to count them or to know them all. I like the ones that you mentioned 2 baby, baby, baby especially remains my favorite Doo Wop'.

I think Doo Wop would be blended so easily wit his type o' music not 2 mention he can do such a great harmony arrangments in his song. Doo Wop is coming back slowly wit a lil' help from Rafeal Saadiq and L-Boogie, it would be MIGHTY COOL if Prince tried some. [This message was edited Mon Aug 5 13:45:11 PDT 2002 by Harlepolis]

C'mon people, they're talking about "rockabilly" not doo-wop.
I don't have all the titles at the forefront of my memory, but there's tons of them. -------------------------------------------------

Prince sings out of key. Who'd want to sing a chorus with him?
He'd only doo-wop with himself using multi-tracking. test

Meaning??? "doo wop" requires every one to be in agreement on the key they're singing in and what parts they'll take. While Prince's approach is often melodic it stil non standard. Hence his best results are when he multi-tracks his own voice solo. I'vew always suspected that's why he wouldn't do "We Are The World": too many trained singers woulda showed him up? i don't know why non-singin Bob Dylan was there too! test

[/quote] I would actually have 2 say that Prince can sing circles 'round everyone that was involved in We R the World 'ceptin' maybe Stevie yah, Y was Dylan there??? He sounds like a goat on valium -------------------------------------------------
