I just got a new book on astrology and for those of you that are intrested in that sort of thing I thought what it said about Scorpio rising was very interesting since apparently Prince has his rising sign in Scorpio. See how many of you would agree with this.

Basically I think your rising sign is a very big influence...it's the part that of you that gives off your first impression to people..my rising sign is Pisces and people are always asking me if I am a Pisces even though I am a Libra. In one of Prince's biographries (I think it was some 1980s paperback) there was some guy telling some story about when he first met Prince in the early eighties and said how he had a strong penetrating energy, and felt like someone was going through his pockets while Prince stared at him. Basically in his own words he said Prince gave him the creeps.

So in this book this it what it said about Scorpio rising...

..."When Scorpio is rising, it creates a personality so strong that you either love it or you hate it-there is no in-between. Scorpio rising, like the Scorpio Sun Sign, is an extreamist. He can possess enormous magnetism or create repulsion. He can be absoluely darling or the most hateful individual-when he's good, he's very good, but when he's bad, he's awful.
Scorpio rising readily sorts out who is worthy in his life and whom he will annihilate. His energies flow without guilt, and he doesn't care whether you like him or not. If you like him, all the better , but if you don't, it's of little consequence to him. This attitude makes him stonefaced and austere in appearance. His eyes are piercing, but they're also meant to intimidate-they either send out a message to keep you away or they'll look right through you. They're eyes that can mesmerize you.
Scorpio risings are magnetic. They exude a psychic, sexual energy that flows freely and is attractive. If a Scorpio rising doesn't realize that he has this power, he will likely misuse it.
Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, which deals with the underworld. When afflicted, it can lead Scorpio rising into a controversial lifestyle and mischievous dealings that might eventually have him wind up where h least expects it-in jail or dead-if he's not careful.

Hmmm..sound like anyone we know? haha...this if from the book "The Complete Book of Astrology" by Ada Aubin and June Rifkin.

Just in case you are wondering Prince has moon in Pisces and also interesting both Denise Matthews and Mayte Garcia have moon in Scorpio and that makes for a very high compatiblity rate if it is in the same sign as someone's rising sign.

It's Prince right down to the last word . Very interesting indeed.

Krystal666, that is very interesting. It does describe Prince pretty well. I found Prince very appealing the first time I saw him on TV. Soon, I realized that people I know would either find him disgusting(my mom and my sister to name a few) or very charismatic (those who I didn't know they were Prince fans, but as the conversation moved along they would praise Prince's accomplishments and musical talent). After reading three biographies of his, and listening and reading what the media says about him, it takes someone with a very strong will and with lots of perseverence to overcome past hardships and continue doing what he loves despite the criticism.
I wish I was that strongwilled. I really admire him.

Speaking as a Pisces woman with a Scorpio Rising sign. I can agree with that assessment wholeheartedly!!

But I always thought there was always some anger and sadness in him that he carries around with him deep down (my father kinda has that look too and he has moon in scorpio) I know that sounds kinda werid but like there is kinda a darkness around them even though people really like them and they are very attractive to other people but you know there is something inside of them that they are struggling with and they can not see themselves the way others see them even though they try really hard to have this bravado.

But anyway I in that passage I really liked the part where it was talking about how both sexes are attracted to Scorpio risings and because they give off such an attractive sexual energy people assume they are promiscious even though that may not exactly be the case.

Prince is what I as an astrologer would call a "classic Plutonian" ie. someone whose chart is heavily coloured by Scorpio and/or Scorpios ruler Pluto.
Like Krystal points out, he has Scorpio rising and as Babynoz mentioned he has also Pluto right on his Leo MC.
On top of that his Gemini Sun is in the 8th house (Pluto/Scorpi's house)AND he has several personal planets aspected by Pluto (his Pisces Moon, his Venus in Taurus and his Mercury in Gemini).In other words his horoscope is FULL of Pluto. In english this means that whatever you can find on Scorpio will describe him quite well, both on a personal level and as far as his public persona(the rising sign and the MC) is concerned.

I'm glad you're here because I have a question.

Using Placidius, Jupiter is in house 11, but using the Equal House system, it falls in house 12. Looking at P, Jupiter in house 12 makes a lot more sense to me. What do you think? Do you try different house systems or just stick with one?

You may want to orgnote your answer to me since this could get quite technical.

In some ways he kinda does remind me of a Gemini man (his intellectual pursuits, verbal abilities, the desire to express himself, also his sense of humor and fondness of women) are aspects I tend to find common with alot of Gemini men but yes at the same time he seems deeper and darker and alot less superfical at the same time and now I know that it must be because of that huge Scorpio influence. Also his quest for the "truth" reminds me of a Scorpio.

I told one of my friends who is really into astrology Prince's Sun in Gem, moon in Pisces-Scorpio rising make up and she was like "WOW! That is quite a package. No wonder he is so dynamic!" He definatly has a facinating chart.
