Hey everybody, I thought I'd share some cute facts about my life that coincide with my love of Prince! Now, I promise I'm not some crazy person who believes that these facts are some kind of prophecy, but I thought the coincidence was pretty strange.

1. For starters, I was adopted from India as a baby, in November of '82. Before my birth, my adoptive mother decided to give me an Indian name as a way to keep a part of my heritage with me. I saw a list of Indian baby names she was choosing from, and there had to be nearly 100 names. Of all of the names she looked at, she finally settled on RANI, which is Hindi for QUEEN. So, like Prince, I was given a "royal" birthname.

2. Before my arrival in the US, the adoption agency told my mother to send over some baby clothes for me. She sent over an assortment of shirts, onesies, booties, and a little white hat. Well, when I came off the plane at Sea-Tac airport, the hat on my head was PURPLE! My mom thought it was pretty funny that they gave me that hat, instead of the white one, because my favorite color has been purple ever since.

3. The flight from Calcutta India to Seattle was a long one (as you can imagine), and there was one stop along the way. I read on some adoption papers just recently that the layover was in, of all places, Minneapolis MN!


So there you have it! From the royal name, mysterious purple hat, and layover in Minneapolis, I think I was meant to be a Prince fan from the start.

Very cool story..I envy u.I feel as though I was born 2 b a Prince fan 2,but I don't know y! I'm a June babe like Prince is,tho! He and I have that much in common!
